Another day, another splattering of chalk across his fur. As the sun burned bright above the streets, Columbus moved without purpose, his pelt puffed out and head held high, regardless of the colours splattered across his sides. They had themselves a brand new packed of the stuff, blues, greens and pinks making their way into his fur and tangling there. He came to a pause, his ears back and mouth open for a long moment, before suddenly letting out a loud sneeze, immediately shaking his head afterward. Oh well, that was just one downside to everything. He’d survive. With a flick of his tail, he was off again, strolling down the street without a care.
It was a peaceful day, cars continuing on their merry way, twolegs floating along the street, taking a moment to pause and look at him, before continuing on. That was a tick in the positive box, his pelt made it seem like someone owned him. Turning down an alley, he paused again, studying the fences on either side. He could go pester some kittypets? That was always fun. His talk flicked behind him aimlessly, before he turned his attention instead to the edges of the alley itself, studying the buns piled on either side, a few boxes discarded as well. Without a moment longer of hesitation, he bounded forward, right to one of the boxes, and stuffed his nose inside.
There was nothing element about his pose, legs wide apart, head stuck inside, tail flicking, but he didn’t care. There were few things he did mind about after all. Yet, distracted, he didn’t catch the sounds of another cat approaching. Or another animal. Who knew?
