The moon hangs high in the clear new-leaf sky, the first gathering of the season. Cool winds brush across the entire forest, but otherwise things remain calm. Not a cloud hovers in the sky, so it can only be assumed that StarClan are content to watch the events of the night unfold, however they do.

reminders
• you may only post with a character once their leader has posted to bring the clan into the clearing.

• make sure to tag any members that roleplay cats your character is talking to, and that you read every post to make sure you're not missing any passing gestures.

• only signed up cats may attend. there are still open spots for some clans here. just remember in signing up you are agreeing to the posting expectations listed in the sign up thread.

• stag , shanny , hallelujah , tikker ♪ ♫ , make sure that in your first post you tag all attending member for your clan.

• remember, quick, fast posts are preferred over long and detailed ones. respond, chat, interact as much as possible. start trouble or finish trouble, have fun in general!

• the gathering will not start immediately once all clans have arrived, so enjoy chatting and interacting for a while!

• there is no posting order here so reply as many times as you'd like!

information for each clan.
• riverclan, yewtail has recently stepped down from the position with whitewater taking her place. this will be his first gathering, however this news has likely travelled across borders by now.

• shadowclan, neritefang has stepped down as deputy. for now until the deputy's name has been announced, please don't reference a name. the deputy will be in attendance. if your accepted character is attending and auditioning, you may post, but leave it open to have their rank change in the next few days just in case.

• skyclan, tigerpaw has just become medicine cat apprentice. news may have travelled to thunderclan and riverclan but likely not much further. this is her first time meeting the other medicine cats.

• thunderclan, falconstar has just become leader within the last moon! this will be his first gathering officially as leader, however given applestar's declining situation, it can be assumed he stood in for her last gathering, and everyone knows by now. hazelclaw has just become deputy. everyone will likely know she's deputy by now, however this will be her first gathering as deputy. EDIT: Sandfeather will be treated as an NPC for this gathering, given Bird's sudden departure. stormbird has been changed to being medicine cat apprentice for a few moons now, so no surprise in his attendance.

• windclan, flurrypaw has just become medicine cat apprentice. she attended the medicine cat meeting, so it is likely everyone knows, especially all medicine cats except for tigerpaw. this will be her first gathering as an apprentice.

Hopefully next gathering we'll have more events to discuss!

REDSTAR

tonight was the full moon, the time for the gathering, and frankly, redstar was in no mood to really enjoy it. she'd heard various news from her warriors about things in other clans, and she was particularly worried about the apprentices she was allowing to go would gossip about windclan. that was not very high on her things she wanted to worry about. casting a blue-eyed glance up to the sky, not a cloud to be seen, redstar nodded to the stars and prayed for a pleasent and swift meeting so she and her warriors could return home. it was still strange to know that besides magpiestar, leader of riverclan, she was the eldest of the leaders having the second longest span as such.

she'd already called her warriors and apprentices attending the gathering that night at the tallrock and signaled them to follow her stead. her paws pounded against the moorlands as she and her clan followed their usual way towards the gathering at fourtrees, keeping an alert eye out for anything suspicious. one could never be too careful, especially when leaving the camp with a patrol such as this. she wouldn't put it past one of the other clans to try and clam her territory or raid her camp while she and a few of her best warriors were away.

the closer she and her patrol got, redstar slowed to a slight trot, eyes still alert to any dangers that might come their way. with another flick of her tail, her paws stopping the patrol a short distance from the gathering place, redstar turned her head around and called loud enough for her patrol to hear. "as per usual, do not give out any information that might compremise windclan or our warriors," the ginger she-cat started, ear flicking at the notion one of her warriors would do such a thing, but there was always a small chance. "i'm keeping faith that this gathering will go quick and smoothly so we can all return home."

though her words were probably unusual, she had been alerted to outsider scent coated with shadowclan's, which is something she was going to possibly bring up to rosestar, if the time felt right. she especially didn't want thunderclan or riverclan to take heed that there were rogues loose on windclan and shadowclan territory for they might pose as weak. not something she wished to deal with, perhaps pulling the russet-colored leader off to the side before leaving and mention it in passing for a proper meet between the two at the border, might work best. "let us go and have a good night." the last of her words were said and redstar turned back to bounding towards fourtrees, flicking her tail for her clan to follow into the clearing. making her way directly towards her usual spot, redstar seperated from her clanmates and waited for the rest of the clans to arrive, she should really stop being early.

There would always be something about the full moons that had Beetleberry less than content. It was too much light, and the presence of StarClan was always so damningly strong. It almost had him rolling his eyes, should his façade have cracked for even a moment. Like their voices and whispers in his ears would do anything, even on a night like that when they were always their strongest away from the moonstone. Yet, not an inch of it showed on the black tom’s face, his amber eyes held warm, but excited, his pelt in place and a small bounce to his movements as though he was as keen as any cat to get to the trees.

“You’ll love it, Flurrypaw! All the cats, all the chatter and spirit, it’s always an interesting experience, especially for the first time!” He meowed brightly to his apprentice, looking to her with a warm experience forced across his face. At least he didn’t have to worry about her for the whole night, an event like that might have destroyed his mood further. She had her sister there, not to mention the other apprentices that would be moving around. She wasn’t as respected as many cats to the confinement of the rocks. As they came to a pause, Beetleberry looked back to Redstar, once again, holding himself back from rolling his eyes.

"as per usual, do not give out any information that might compremise windclan or our warriors. i'm keeping faith that this gathering will go quick and smoothly so we can all return home." WindClan or their warriors, what cheek. As if WindClan’s warriors needed compromising, they were perfectly capable of doing that on their own. The tip of his tail twitched once, before he stilled it again. "let us go and have a good night." If she said so. The black to reached over to bat Flurrypaw’s ears with his tail, before padding forward with all the simple energy he could muster, moving straight for the base of the rock. It was there he sat himself as Redstar passed overhead. “It’s nice to be able to settle first!” he called up to her, before glancing back to check on Swiftfoot’s location He didn’t need a comment from their dim-witted deputy in response.

Pinestar would always remember his first gathering clearly. The way the moon has shone down through the four great oaks and down onto the rocks below, the breeze the mixed all the scents of the clans together in a blend of something that just seemed just the forest as a whole. The gatherings were a place where the forest was one, united with word and wisdom under the great stretching band of their ancestors across the sky. As SkyClan’s patrol moved along the river, keeping right to the edge as per their agreement with ThunderClan to pass through to fourtrees, he took the time to watch Silverpelt, glowing right there with the moon above them, watching.

There was definitely nothing he could hate about a gathering that brought peace to the clans, and led to so much communication between all the clans when it mattered. Not to mention, he would always be prepared to take part in an event that shared gossip and news. Just the thought of learning, of gathering more information and listening has the tom’s pace speeding up, only glancing back over his shoulder to Half-face and Tawnygaze briefly. Not that the pace stayed that way for long, before he slowed once more. He had to admit, for SkyClan, it was one of the more confident gatherings he had to present. They were at peace, they had no disturbances and nothing eventful to report beyond good news. It had him at ease.

It was enough that as they reached the edge of the trees, the first scents of the other clans beginning to soak through out into the open, he didn’t bother stopping for long. Only enough so the patrol could bring themselves together at the edge of the trees. “Enjoy yourself, SkyClan has nothing to hide,” he meowed, giving a little bob of his head, and running his gaze across the cats gathered. His attention moved from his deputy and medicine cat back to Tigerpaw, before to Hawkpaw and Bluepaw. They had so many apprentices in attendance, but, all of them needed to experience the gatherings once. His gaze lingered on Hawkpaw once more. Especially those who needed to prove they were worth calling themselves SkyClan cats.

Hareleap and Smoketail had his attention briefly as he scanned past them, before eventually, his amber eyes fell on Snowfall, and a small smile twisted into his face. It was always good when he got to bring his brother right along with him. Turning, he gestured for everyone to go forward with his tail, two quick flicks over his head, so he could pull back to bump gently into Snowfall’s side. “Ready to see what the forest has to tell us today?” he rumbled, nudging him again toward the clearing, before moving himself, tabby and white pelt puffed out and eyes alert, as they move down into the opening.

WindClan’s sent with thick, prominent within the small area, no surprise there. Looking around, he almost considered approaching some of the faces he knew, Rowanfrost, Swantail. However, the time for that would come. Right there and then, his gaze moved up to Redstar, already sitting and prepared. Bunching himself, Pinestar launched upward, scaling the rock with the ease that every SkyClan cat ever would. Climbing with their speciality, as jumping camp paw in paw. “Evening, Redstar. I hope prey’s running well,” he meowed, voice as professionally clipped as usual, yet holding nothing but respect. He wasn’t there to start a fight.

Before they even left the camp, there was a yawn on the spotted warrior’s lips. Gatherings sucked so much. Though she had to admit purely that it was due to taking away from designated sleeping hours. Beyond that, they were pretty cool. The she-cat’s tail flicked lazily behind her, pale eyes peering ahead, trying to see beyond the figures of the leader, deputy and medicine cat up ahead. It had her giving a small huff, but, she didn’t push ahead. Even if it would have been more fun to shove Redstar along the whole time and keep her on her paws. Cindermist’s gaze moved to her paws, watching their move across the grass and slopping territory for a few moments, eventually lifting as things started to slow, he ears pricked immediately.

"As per usual, do not give out any information that might compremise windclan or our warriors. i'm keeping faith that this gathering will go quick and smoothly so we can all return home. Let us go and have a good night." yeah, she definitely wanted it to be quick. Or did she? She did like talking after all. Cindermist’s tail twitched indecisively, before she rushed forward, moving past Swiftfoot and Beetleberry in order to bump into Redstar’s side, and off into the clearing. It was a shame they were the first ones there, but, it didn’t matter she supposed. Moving forward, she found herself a spot at the edge of the clearing, where the leaves were thick and seemed comfortable enough.

Immediately, she plopped herself down, not hesitation to stretch out, holding herself up, but lying down all the same. There was no need to be all primed and proper, not when it was just SkyClan that brought themselves in next. Her tail flicked behind her, and studied the crowd, waiting to see if company would come to her, or if she was seeking it out.

Rosestar always loved Gatherings, ever since she attended her first as an apprentice, giggling along with her sister as they gossiped about and met with other clans, while her brother saw it as more of an opportunity to view other clans' weaknesses, as well as gain potential allies instead of friends. Rosestar believed allies and friends were not mutually exclusive terms, and hoped that her clanmates enjoyed the peaceful excursion that was StarClan's will.

She had lifted a claw at the High Boulder, her pelt glistening red in moonlight-- she had groomed it thoroughly, more so than usual as she did for every Gathering, there were no burrs or knots to be found in her long fur-- "Remember, ShadowClan! This is a time to make friends, as StarClan forbid any cat make an enemy out of us." She paused for any cheers or mrrows of laughter at her statement. "Do not discuss our new deputy until I give the announcement. The best surprises are not to be ruined, after all!" With a mischievous grin at her final words, Rosestar jumped off the boulder and made her way to Fourtrees with the rest of her clan.

The mischief remained on their walk to Fourtrees, and Rosestar bent down to whisper into Webpaw's ear. He was a good apprentice, very interested in clan politics beyond the usual apprentice training of battling and hunting. Perhaps, one day, he would make a good leader himself. "Don't just observe the interactions of others, remember to participate as well. Friends can become allies... Circumstances permitting." Rosestar knew as well as any cat that Gathering friendships did not necessarily mean that any mercy would be spared in a battle.

Peering to make sure her deputy, Sparrowpelt, and Crowpaw were not far behind-- they were of utmost importance-- Rosestar flicked her tail signaling that they were to enter Fourtrees. The russet-furred she-cat remembered the words of her former leader Loudstar telling her to lead ShadowClan with pride and dignity, and as Rosestar entered the clearing, she did just that, quietly, stealthily, and with her head held regally high and proud, the epitome of a ShadowClan cat. She swiftly bounded up to the rock where the leaders sat-- perhaps not as powerful of a jump as Pinestar, but no sound was made when she landed.

"Good evening, Redstar, Pinestar." Rosestar meowed, her voice warm and friendly. "StarClan has blessed us with a beautiful Silverpelt tonight."

Gatherings were not something Swiftfoot tended to enjoy.

For the street worn she-cat, she'd never exactly been very gifted with casual conversation. Perhaps that was something deep imbued within her spirit, for even after thirty moons of serving WindClan, still did she struggle with some of their rituals and strange ways. Gatherings were largely treated as social events, a chance to mingle and connect; but why would cats, so defensive of their borders, waste a full moon to act chummy among each other? She just couldn't see the point.

That's why she hung slightly back right about now, eyes grazing across the cats of their patrol. Swantail, Wormpaw, Blackwolf, Rowanfrost...Bettleberry and Flurrypaw, much to her annoyed contempt. Regardless it was a healthy amount of cats to bring along to such a sacred night; not too many, not too few. As Redstar padded to a halt, her echoing words rung loud in Swiftfoot's ears; "as per usual, do not give out any information that might compromise WindClan or our warriors. I'm keeping faith that this gathering will go quick and smoothly so we can all return home." Swiftfoot trusted that her Clanmates would not be so stupid as to jeopardize the entire Clan, but a reminder was always helpful, especially for the darn apprentices, whom she'd noted to always be a bit too friendly around the enemy. Because of this she shot a pointed glare at Wormpaw and Flurrypaw, as if daring them to say too much.

"Let us go and have a good night." With that said Swiftfoot bounded down after her leader. She couldn't help breathing a small sigh of relief upon seeing that they were the first to arrive. Another quirk of hers - large crowds of cats were rather intimidating to integrate among, though of course she'd never admit so. A flash of black streaked past, and she saw Beetleberry settle down at the base of the rock. She'd never liked the medicine cat - not that she liked any - and she didn't pretend to hide this fact. "The other Clans should arrive soon," she meowed shortly. "So I wouldn't get too comfortable if I were you, Beetleberry." Her words were almost light and pleasant, but her sharp amber gaze told a different story.

As if on cue, ears pricking, Swiftfoot saw another stream of cats pour down to Fourtrees. SkyClan. Their bulky cats poured like a river down the slope, led by the great Pinestar. Swiftfoot was not one to admire those of other Clans, but even she could sense his powerful presence and the respect he held among his Clanmates. She dipped a polite hello to the new arrivals, before hearing more joining meows. This time she smelled them before she saw them; she hated their scent, seeping like sewage into the open air. Though Rosestar was very beautiful - there was no denying that. So all that left was RiverClan and ThunderClan.

Blossompaw was so excited for the Gathering she just couldn't keep still! But that wasn't uncommon for the apprentice. Her mother had tried to groom her pelt for the special night, just like she had for their apprentice ceremony, but had given up on it with an exasperated yet fond smile.

The only mark on the night would be that her family wasn't with her. Both of her parents were staying behind and Spottedpaw had gotten into a fight with another apprentice and so wasn't allowed to go. But at least Webpaw would be going, so it wasn't all bad!

ShadowClan was already gathered, waiting for Rosestar to be ready. Her pelt was spiked and bushy, bushier than usual, and she was practically vibrating with energy and impatience to just get going already. Her yellow eyes were trained on the red pelt of her leader and at the slightest movement she was ready to zoom off.

Rosestar was taking her sweet old time, though. "Remember, ShadowClan! This is a time to make friends, as StarClan forbid any cat make an enemy out of us." Yes, ha ha, funny, now could she hurry up? "Do not discuss our new deputy until I give the announcement. The best surprises are not to be ruined, after all!" Well, that was true enough, at least...

And finally, finally, FINALLY they were on their way. It was all Blossompaw could not do to break ranks and charge ahead of them all. She stayed instead by Brightscar's side, eyes fixed on the road ahead and never looking away. Webpaw was by Rosestar too, so she wasn't the only one traveling with their mentor. Blossompaw chatted away, talking too quickly for Brightscar to respond. "I'm so excited Brightscar are you excited because I'm excited can you tell how excited I am and OHMYGOSH WE'RE HERE!"

Rosestar was all pride and dignity as she stalked soundlessly into Fourtrees. Ain't no one got time for stupid stuff like 'dignity', least of all Blossompaw! Without waiting for Brightscar or Webpaw, she darted away from ShadowClan's patrol, eager for someone new to talk to and befriend.

WindClan and SkyClan were already here, so yay! Her eyes scanned the crowd, looking for someone to speak to, when they landed on a she-cat who was sitting on the fringes of the group on some very uncomfortable looking leaves. Leaves were silly, the stems always got in the way. Why didn't the she-cat find a nice bed of pine needles to sit in if she wanted to laze the night away?

Blossompaw darted through the crowd to the she-cat's side, accidentally cannoning into her side and bouncing off. "Ooph!" she grunted, blinking away. She shook it off quick enough and leaped to her paws, grinning widely at the spotted gray warrior that smelled of WindClan. "Hiya! I'm Blossompaw! What'cha doin' all the way over here? Gatherings are for gathering, not sitting to the side like a lump! Silly!"

She giggled and wiggled before dancing on her paws, eager to be on the move again. "Come on, let's go let's go let's go! I'll introduce you to my bestest best friend Webpaw! He's Rosestar's apprentice so he'll be super duper important one day!" Blossompaw darted away before stopping and looking over her shoulder to see if the WindClan cat was following.

Webpaw was practically vibrating with excitement as he sat outside of the apprentice den, the light from the full moon washing over his silver and black pelt. Amber eyes danced across camp as his clanmates milled about, either waiting to go to the Gathering or preparing to lay down after a busy day of hunting and patrolling. Other apprentices that weren't going to the Gathering were tumbling around nearby, wrestling in the gloom, laughing and giggling but Webpaw felt too jittery to join them. Rosestar had told him earlier that day that he would be going to the Gathering tonight and since then, Webpaw had been anxious for the sun to go down. Even though he had been an apprentice for about a moon or so, the silver tabby hadn't been able to go tot he last Gathering. What made it even better was that Blossompaw, one of his best friends, was going too. This was both a blessing and a curse in its own way because he knew he'd probably trail behind her most of the night making sure she didn't get into too much trouble but at the same time Webpaw knew he would want to find a spot near the leaders to listen and watch all that went on.

At last Rosestar slipped out of her den. Webpaw bounced to his feet, grinning, and padded toward the High Boulder as she climbed it to address the clan. 'Remember, ShadowClan! This is a time to make friends, as StarClan forbid any cat make an enemy out of us. Do not discuss our new deputy until I give the announcement. The best surprises are not to be ruined, after all!'

Goofy grin affixed to his face, the small silver tom waited until Rosestar climbed down from the boulder before taking up his place dutifully at her left shoulder. He knew deputies usually walked to the right of their leaders when heading to Gatherings but not many cats adhered to that anymore. Still, Webpaw focused on keeping up with his mentor as the rest of the Gathering patrol gathered and left ShadowClan's camp. Since most of his clanmates were rather tall or big cats Webpaw had to walk pretty briskly to keep up but with all of the jittery energy he'd been holding in all day it was nice to be moving finally.

'Don't just observe the interactions of others, remember to participate as well. Friends can become allies... Circumstances permitting.' Rosestar's voice in his ear, both familiar and welcome helped Webpaw focus as he walked. She was right, he needed to pay attention to the other clans but do so subtly, and not just pass on potential allies. Nodding to his mentor Webpaw murmured "Yes Rosestar, I'll try" with a grin and jaunty wave of his black striped tail.

When they reached Fourtrees, Webpaw spied a selection of gathered cats. One, a massive brown and white tom must be Pinestar and the other ginger was Redstar. Watching as Rosestar approached the others, Webpaw filtered into the clearing with his clanmates, paws whispering over the grass. His amber gaze flicked from cat to cat as they began to mingle. Vaguely familiar names filtered through his mind as he listened to a few warriors call out greetings to others.

'Come on, let's go let's go let's go! I'll introduce you to my bestest best friend Webpaw! He's Rosestar's apprentice so he'll be super duper important one day!'

The excited lilt of Blossompaw's voice made Webpaw's ears twitch. Craning his neck to look over or around some of the taller cats around him, Webpaw tried to find his friend. Go figure she'd be the first to break the ice. Lips twitching in a smile, the silver tabby tom slid through the mingle masses, gaze flicking around until he found the distinct tortoiseshell pelt of his friend. She was talking to someone with the scent of moorland heather on their pelt. 'WindClan.' The thought whispered through Webpaw's head as he drew closer though he couldn't place the cat by name. Still, as he got closer he called out to Blossompaw.

"Blossompaw! There you are!" Trotting closer, Webpaw slid to a smooth stop next to Blossompaw and the WindClan stranger. "Hello," he said to the stranger, dipping his head politely. "i'm Webpaw...not that important" he said, blushing under his fur when he remembered Blossompaw's excited promise to introduce this cat to him like he was actually significant.

REDSTAR

just as she and her clan arrived at fourtrees, redstar felt something brush against her pelt, turning to see the form of cindermist. with a small smilre towards her best friend, the ginger tabby made her way to her usual spot. as she settled down in wait for the rest of the clans to arrive, the she-cat perked her ears as she heard beetleberry's voice from below. "it's nice to be able to settle first!" at the black tom's words, redstar let out a soft laugh, responding quickly, gaze glancing towards cindermist laying down off to the side. "yes, i'm just hoping tonight goes by fairly quickly. no need to dwell here longer than needed."

it seemed as soon as her words were spoken, not even seconds later, her blue gaze found the brown-and-white pelt of pinestar and the patrol of skyclan bouding into the clearing as pinestar went directly towards her. "evening redstar. i hope prey's running well," his voice came, with his usual professionalism. as she opened her mouth to respond, her attention was caught by rosestar and shadowclan coming into the clearing. if that was the case, then it was only falconstar with thunderclan and magpiestar with riverclan left to join them. "good evening, redstar, pinestar." rosestar's voice stated warm and friendly like usual, "starclan has blessed us with a beautiful silverpelt tonight."

with a nod of approval, redstar flicked her tail and kept her voice pleasent as she spoke. despite the mood she was feeling, she wasn't there to start a fight, and by now, each leader should know her by now and not take full offense. never the less, her voice held a warmness to it as she meowed her resonses. "greetings, rosestar, and just as well as usual pinestar. how have things been in skyclan and shadowclan?"
