I cannot stop this sickness taking over, It takes control and drags me into nowhere I need your help, I can't fight this forever (Nightnose- Warrior of WindClan) Early morning was strangely one of his favorite times of the day. Where Silverpelt could almost still be seen but the sun was clawing its steady rise into the sky. Just that moment where both could be seen- it was important to him. He didn’t feel like such a failure- he didn’t feel like anything really. He had snuck out of the warrior’s den with surprising ease as he wanted to have a few moments of piece. Brown eyes stared at the transforming sky in front of his eyes. The landscape- he could almost imagine his paws itching against the clouds as he ran through the sky. Leaping over the tall ones and crashing against the bright blue. Did StarClan feel that way? Sometimes he felt like he just had an overactive imagination- seeing the stars move or hearing distant voices and calls of his name. He didn’t know what it was. He couldn’t trust anyone with it- though he knew that his brother probably knew to a degree. He tried to talk to him about it- thinking he was purely sick, but the conversation trailed into awkwardness and he found he would rather deal with the awkward feelings than tell his brother. Seeing his brother’s black fur only made him think of a void. He knew his brother didn’t hate him- but that didn’t mean he was useful. He didn’t know why his brother did what his brother did. He didn’t understand- was he not smart enough? StarClan wouldn’t doom so many cats- even if his sister deserved to be punished. His brown eyes met the ground and he felt almost ashamed at the thought. He didn’t think his sister deserved to die- or did he? He wasn’t sure- he wasn’t a good warrior certainly. He probably wouldn’t even make it into StarClan. He would be in the void. A troubled sigh left his lips as the cat almost gave up on his more enjoyable time but he stayed. Most cats were sleeping- only going to be roused up with the moon settled its disappearing act. He was alone- and beyond probably Stoneshade and someone else protecting the camp- he was hopefully the only one awake. Nightnose’s paws itched against the ground and in his trance, he barely noticed someone coming up from behind until their paws made a sound. He leaped up onto all fours- his eyes wide and his haunches lowered- his tail almost parallel with the ground. It wasn’t until he saw his fur mirrored with green eyes that his heart stopped. Void stared back at him and he heard a voice distantly snap at him- that wasn’t there. None of it was ever there. “Beetleberry.” He breathed- feeling as he spoke a curse. “You scared me.” In more ways than one- even though one was only addressed in the conversation. His heart felt like the rabbit- trying to get away from a predator- but not sure if he was trying to run away or two it. Was it a light to eat him up or a light to save him? I know you're watching, I can feel you out there |
