On the edge of the clearing, Birchsong basked in the warmth of the new-leaf sun, warming her thick fur on the sand that had been touched by the sun's heat. It was truly a wonderful day, far too lovely to waste on something as trivial as training. But, unfortunately, there was a kink her tail that she couldn't seem to shake out, an annoying little knot by the name of Lightpaw. Birchsong was faintly surprised that the little brat hadn't come tearing into the hollow at first light to bounce all over her as usual, but she supposed she should count her blessings. The later Lightpaw decided to show up, the longer that gave her to actual relax and enjoy the day.
This would technically be their first day of training together, but Lightpaw had practically been jumping down her throat at the start, all excitable limbs and shining eyes, tripping over herself at the barest hint that they would be going out to explore the forest together. Well, tough luck for her! Birchsong didn't much feel like a mindless stroll about the territories today, and would much rather spend it lying about. She'd probably demonstrate a few moves at the beginning and set the silly little kit to work trying to perfect them. Certainly it would keep her busy until sunhigh had passed, and then if she was tired enough, she'd go right to sleep without bothering her about anything else when they were through.
