Silentkit
You have always worn your flaws upon your sleeve
And I have always buried them deep beneath the ground
Dig them up; let’s finish what we’ve started
Dig them up, so nothing’s left untouched
And I have always buried them deep beneath the ground
Dig them up; let’s finish what we’ve started
Dig them up, so nothing’s left untouched
the nursery was usually bustling, but it seemed now to have quieted down for a bit. the duo of queens sharing the den relished the chance to rest their minds, calm smiles upon their maws.
silentkit stared at his mother's relaxed expression for a long time. or it felt like that. he knew how much their mothers appreciated the downtime--that didn't make him like it any more, unfortunately. the young red tabby was terribly, incredibly lonely, and it boosted his pride a little to add that being bored was a problem, too. green eyes fixated blankly on redfur's expression as he pondered his situation, alone.
more friends... silentkit needed to make some more friends! the other kits were younger, but maybe they'd still be fun to play with... and maybe they'd think he was cool.
silentkit's face lit up. oh, YES. it was decided now. he would be the cool older kit role model to these younger kits and also their friends and tigerkit would be TOTALLY outdone as coolest just for his size. not that silentkit resented his brother; he quite liked sneaking out with his larger brother, getting into some fun! but he knew the game, and how he would be the obvious standout cat for his size, and silentkit wanted some attention, too.
perhaps his only hope was to become funny.
did he know any jokes? he didn't think if any off the top of his head. he needed to make one up, quick! to prove he was funny.
and after a few moments, he finally thought of one. it was time to establish himself.
"hey," came silentkit's quiet voice, in no particular direction. "does anyone want to hear a joke?" there was an urgency, an excitement in his voice, and he scanned the quiet nursery in search of eye-contact before repeating himself, just to be sure.
"does anybody want to hear a joke?"
"others' speech,"
"my speech,"
