“Snowfall!”
The leader’s call came a day later than he’d originally intended, the fuss of the border clash, his immediate obligations, and the need for rest coming before the chance to converse with the clan’s new deputy. However, as the sun rose steadily toward its peak, the clan starting to thin of cats as they headed off to work on their tasks for the day, it was time to make the conversation happen. It helped his fur had flattened, and the events of the day before had settled in his mind enough that they could be put aside for quiet moments.
There and then, they had matters to attend to, as brothers, and as leader and deputy. They needed to discuss the role Snowfall would need to play that he may have not gathered already, and how they were going to deal with the potential problem of RiverClan, if they had been stirred up to such a degree that they made a move. It bothered him that such a thing needed to be considered. “When you’re finished with what you’re doing, let’s have a chat.” The words were softer this time, more casual than perhaps he usually used when thinking about clan issues. However, Snowfall was his brother, first and foremost. That came before formalities.
The large tabby and white tom moved toward the leader’s den, and slid inside through the overhanging vines and onto the mossy retreat. Two mice sat unattended in the corner, no doubt left by whatever cat had decided to clean his nest while he was out and about. Well, the thought was appreciated regardless. With a small hum, the leader wrinkled his nose, moving to the nest and immediately setting to flattening out the moss and leaves into a more suitable spot. He only stopped with the sound of approaching pawsteps, in order to look up, and check he knew who was coming, before setting back to righting the moss.
“I hope you haven’t had too much trouble on your first day, Snowfall,” he meowed.

NOTES: sorry this is on the shorter side! I just wanted to get something rolling for them. <3
