parsleynose is a cat of complex personality
Parsleynose is...not RiverClan's most serious warrior. She giggles, rolls through the reeds and sneezes a bit too much to ever be considered stoic or serious. This young tabby always manages to look windswept or ruffled which mirrors quite a bit of her demeanor. Parsleynose is almost always on the move, whether that means swimming, hunting, tracking or bouncing after her nearest best friend. She's the warrior often tusseling with apprentices, tumbling around camp with the kits and instigating games among the warriors. Parselynose's energy, well meaning and infectious, can be quite annoying to the older warriors and elders but even when she tries to tone it down Parselynose usually still manages to be a bit of an annoyance. Her mind is alight with ideas, flying from one thought to the next at an almost unbelievable speed. The flightiness of her mind means Parselynose is often...well...forgetful. She'll forget patrols, show up late or sometimes not show up at all. She tries to remember but in all honesty Parsleynose is easily distracted. Quite like a bloodhound or beagle, Parsleynose can not ignore an unusual scent. She'll get caught up in tracking (the only time her mind actually seems to quiet) and totally forget she promised someone to go hunting with them or that she was assigned a certain patrol. Parsleynose tries her best to make up for her flightiness by being friendly and trying to lift the mood of her clanmates when they become gloomy or tense. She'll try to lighten up any situation, even if it's not always the best idea. Older warriors tend to frown and say she's immature but Parsleynose knows better. She knows some situations are serious and somber but she prefers to look on the bright side of things and be able to crack a smile rather than scowl or frown so she agrees to disagree and continues on her way.a history of great depth and care is behind this feline
Parsleykit and her sister Ruekit came to life from the passing pairing of Aspenfrost and Sootpelt. Aspenfrost had no real attachment to Sootpelt and he had no real interest in parenting but that was alright with Aspenfrost. An independent and wild she-cat, she preferred raising her daughters alone. Fond of herbal names, she dubbed her kits Parsleykit and Ruekit. Parsleykit was named for her wild, flyaway fur so similar to wild growths of parsley and Ruekit named for her more delicate and petite build. The sisters grew up thick as thieves but quite distinct from one another. Ruekit was small and sickly, thin as a reed and often of delicate health. Parsleykit was much more robust, though she shared a light build. She was rambunctious and as wild as the wildflowers that grew in ThunderClan's meadows. Parsleykit's bright energy often was a comfort to her sister and Ruekit often served to tame some of Parselykit's wild energy. As the sisters grew, they naturally became apprentices. Everyone had noticed that from a young age Parselypaw had a distinctly keen nose. Strong herbs or prey going bad garnered strong reactions from the young tabby and tipped off the leader that she would be a promising tracker. As a result Parsleypaw was apprenticed to one of ThunderClan's older trackers, a grumbling old tom named Barckenthroat that had been hoping for retirement soon. It was the hours spent tracking, patrolling and guarding with Brackenthroat that tempered Parsleypaw's youthful wildness. She became more patient and calm but her sensitive nose only became more refined. Sensitive to changing winds, breaks in foliage and the blooming of new herbs Parsleypaw blossomed as a tracker. Meanwhile Ruepaw, while a capable apprentice, still struggled with ill health and like any delicate flower wilted and bloomed with the seasons. During warmer months Ruepaw was as energetic and strong as any apprentice while the cold months had her cooped up with the medicine cat more often than not.
As a result of their uneven training, Parsleypaw became Parsleynose at 12 moons old while Rueflower earned her name at 14 moons. Parsleynose almost immediately became a fixture in patrols and hunting parties, her keen nose helping ensure no one went hungry. Meanwhile, Rueflower spent very little time as a warrior. By 18 moons Rueflower had chosen a mate and was moving into the nursery. Too delicate to serve as a warrior, Rueflower decided to serve her clan as a queen. Parsleynose, too restless to do such a thing, nonetheless supported her sister's choice, secretly glad Rueflower would be safe. Unfortunately, when Rueflower prepared to give birth it was a difficult birth. In the end Rueflower did not survive and the young Parsleynose was left to bury not only her sister but her two newborn nieces. The kits lived just long enough to be named, the medicine cat working through the night to try and save them. By dawn mother and kits went to StarClan and the clan gathered for their vigil.
