An apprentice! Nothing, not even that disaster of a patrol with Goosefur earlier, could spoil this day for Quakelight. He almost felt lile he was her age again, eager and excited and so, so nervous for his first day. Then again, he'd been an awful scaredy-cat at her age and, from what he'd seen, Foxpaw was nothing like that. At least, he hopef not. As ridiculous as it was, Quakelight doubted he could stand anyone remotely like Quakepaw. A trembling ball of nerves who couldn't break out of his shell? Ugh.

"Foxpaw!" Foxpaw, now there was an exciting name. Rowdy, feisty, exciting, his type of apprentice if her name was anything to go by. The warrior poked his head into her den, calling her name again. Mid-afternoon, now this was a perfect time for training. Quakelight didn't believe in waking up early, no way. She wasn't in the den! Where could she be? He had a moment of worry, fearing that he'd already made a mistake and she was out on patrol or something. Could they do that? Surely not without her mentor, and before her first session with him…right?

Feeling foolish, but grinning all the while, he asked a couple of other warriors if they had seen her, only to receive head shakes. "Foxpaw! I'm missing my nap for you, there's no point avoiding training." He paced around camp, which wasn't all that large to begin with. Oh, where could she be? Obviously he could play it off cool, but he didn't want to look stupid on his first day as a mentor.

And thats's how the story goes, the story of the beast with those four dirty paws

Foxpaw had slept in. After being reassigned a mentor...again...she'd taken advantage of the slip up of schedules and slept in like a good cat. The ruddy molly lay in her nest until almost sunhigh, lashing her tail and spitting when anyone tried to approach her or waken her. No, not today. This cat would be sleeping in because she could. However, finally her paws itched to move and she woke herself up, the sun coming in through her nest and into her eyes. She licked her fur and groomed out moss and dirt, wanting to be clean. She expected the poor new soul who would mentor her would at least enjoy a clean brat, rather than a dirty one. She gave a wicked grin to no one but her self--the den was empty now--and heaved herself up, flexing her paws and exposing her needle claws as she stretched once more before exiting the den. Foxpaw looked about, amber eyes narrowed, before shrugging and beginning to pad away. Where to? The bank, of course. Into a small patch of reeds that would hide her for the time being. She continued her grooming session, staring into the silver water as it rushed by. The hot tempered she-cat had a secret love of watching the river run by. It calmed her down, made her feel less belligerent. However it wasn't long until she heard her calling card. ~~"Foxpaw! I'm missing my nap for you, there's no point avoiding training."~~ Oh this was the brave cat who'd been gifted with her? Great. The rusty colored cat's ears flattened and her whiskers twitched before she slipped from between the reeds and slunk over to Quakelight, her tail tip twitching. "So, you've been tasked with me?" she asked, her voice more or less a sickly purr, her eyes dancing with a faint glare. "Oh, this'll be good."

Hi everyone,
This announcement is being made with an extremely heavy heart, and we know it may not be a popular one. However, Alee and I have made the decision that we are going to be closing Chasing the Sun by the end of the month. Originally, we were going to wait till the end of the activity check before making the call either way, as no doubt some of you picked up from my introduction to the check itself. But, after seeing some of the most recent hiatuses and their updates, and talking with a few members who will not be continuing on the site, we’ve decided at this stage in time, it’s the right time to bring things to a close.

Chasing the Sun is a play-by-post roleplay based on the Warriors series by Erin Hunter. We are set in the original forest in an alternative universe from the books, where SkyClan were never forced from the forest and the characters we have known and loved have not existed. We have a 150-word minimum and a sandbox roleplay setting that does not have an overarching plot, only those that members form together. The world is there to shape by the characters than inhabit it, growing the forest into something unique from what we have seen before. THUNDERCLAN VERSES BADGERS
Due to a change of high ranks that is to take place, this plot has been updated and modified. if you were originally involved, please make sure to check the thread and voice if you still want involvement as soon as possible! The Forest Prince is the the current thread leading into the start of this plot.

WIND/SHADOW VERSES ROGUES
Redstar, Rosestar and their fellow high ranks of WindClan and ShadowClan have met on the border of the clans and formed a truce, after it has become aware that a group of rogues has become a threat. Both leaders have addressed this issue in their clan meetings, with Rosestar setting the rule that until the rogues have been dealt with, cats are not to leave camp alone.

WINDCLAN - MEDICINE CAT PLOT
A significant change has taken place in the direction of this plot, and the main post has now been edited to reflect such. We are still looking for WindClan cats to be involved, so if you have a cat you’d like to have something happen to, places are still open.

SKYCLAN VERSES RIVERCLAN
With the border clash narrowly avoided by Pinestar’s intervention, steam has yet to ease, as the SkyClan patrol stand in camp to address the clan getting too ambitious. Meanwhile, with the change in leadership of RiverClan causing discomfort across the clan, there is no doubt that everyone is on edge. Another clash is imminent.
