Emberthorn, Thunderclan Elder, 95 moons

Where was she again? With an absent look in her copper coloured eyes, the she-cat gazed upwards at the rustlings leaves. Newleaf green they were, it looked beautiful. Even though they were turning a bit fuzzy thanks to her eyes not being as good as they were. It was a really soothing day, with a soft breeze rustling the leaves and the quiet chirping of the birds. But what was she doing here? THe she-cat narrowed her eyes and shrugged. She probably was here for a reason. She was getting used to her mind faltering.

Suddenly, her eyes lit up again. That was it. She was a warrior, she was hunting. She had to be useful for her clan. She lashed her tail silently as she crept on, following the sound of rustling between the ferns. Prey? It sounded like large prey. Licking her lips silently, she prowled forwards, as quiet as she could. And finally, when her whiskers brushed the ferns, she leaped through. But, the prey was quite large. As large.. as she was actually. As she probably bowled it over, she started at it in confusion. The prey had whiskers, and a tail just like she did. Was it a cat? It wasn't prey? Closing her eyes for a moment, she tried to clear her head.

Maplestorm

Do not scorn pity that is the gift of a gentle heart.

The calico-pelted warrior was sliding through the grass, pressed low to the ground and sniffing the air for the scent of prey - or the lost elder.

Maplestorm was on a two-part mission, as were most warriors of that day.

Emberthorn had managed to escape the Elder den again, prompting a territory-wide search for her. The cats had tried to keep unnecessary panic on a low, especially with the kits and apprentices, since this wasn't the first time Emberthorn had gone wandering, but Maplestorm couldn't help but hope she was found soon.
The Elder had been an old and wise thing already when Maplestorm was born and the following moons hadn't helped her in terms of sight or a reliable memory.

Just as a familiar scent teased her nose, Maplestorm was taken by surprise when a body crashed into hers, sending them both rolling.
The giant of a she-cat turned around to face her attacker, only to meet Emberthorn's gaze with her mismatched eyes.

"Emberthorn." The warrior said as she found her legs again, voice gentle and betraying her worry. "Are you alright? You wandered off again."

Maplestorm did her best not to hover over the elder, but it was hard not to show her worry. It would have been easy to mistake her shape and size for that of a fox or a badger (granted, she wasn't that huge, but with Emberthorn's old eyes..).
At least the elder didn't seem to have any bleeding wounds - or rather none that the warrior could see.

Hi everyone,
This announcement is being made with an extremely heavy heart, and we know it may not be a popular one. However, Alee and I have made the decision that we are going to be closing Chasing the Sun by the end of the month. Originally, we were going to wait till the end of the activity check before making the call either way, as no doubt some of you picked up from my introduction to the check itself. But, after seeing some of the most recent hiatuses and their updates, and talking with a few members who will not be continuing on the site, we’ve decided at this stage in time, it’s the right time to bring things to a close.

Chasing the Sun is a play-by-post roleplay based on the Warriors series by Erin Hunter. We are set in the original forest in an alternative universe from the books, where SkyClan were never forced from the forest and the characters we have known and loved have not existed. We have a 150-word minimum and a sandbox roleplay setting that does not have an overarching plot, only those that members form together. The world is there to shape by the characters than inhabit it, growing the forest into something unique from what we have seen before. THUNDERCLAN VERSES BADGERS
Due to a change of high ranks that is to take place, this plot has been updated and modified. if you were originally involved, please make sure to check the thread and voice if you still want involvement as soon as possible! The Forest Prince is the the current thread leading into the start of this plot.

WIND/SHADOW VERSES ROGUES
Redstar, Rosestar and their fellow high ranks of WindClan and ShadowClan have met on the border of the clans and formed a truce, after it has become aware that a group of rogues has become a threat. Both leaders have addressed this issue in their clan meetings, with Rosestar setting the rule that until the rogues have been dealt with, cats are not to leave camp alone.

WINDCLAN - MEDICINE CAT PLOT
A significant change has taken place in the direction of this plot, and the main post has now been edited to reflect such. We are still looking for WindClan cats to be involved, so if you have a cat you’d like to have something happen to, places are still open.

SKYCLAN VERSES RIVERCLAN
With the border clash narrowly avoided by Pinestar’s intervention, steam has yet to ease, as the SkyClan patrol stand in camp to address the clan getting too ambitious. Meanwhile, with the change in leadership of RiverClan causing discomfort across the clan, there is no doubt that everyone is on edge. Another clash is imminent.
