I WANT TO TRY EVEN THOUGH I COULD FAIL » Creampaw stared into the darkness blindly, as if searching for something. She wasn't quite sure what she expected to see, besides the roof of the den and a bug or two. Well, obviously she couldn't see even that because the sun hadn't even come up. Ugh, she hated her stupid irregular sleep patterns. Why couldn't she just get a decent night's sleep once in a while? Oh wait, nope that would be a ridiculous request. Probably just a few minutes now until dawn, maybe she could make a good impression on her new mentor. Whenever she tried to be excited about apprenticeship, she failed miserably. The truth was, Creampaw felt like crowfood. A few days ago she'd been fine, she had been nervous and excited and so happy to become a 'paw but naturally the moment something great happened the feeling came back. Nothing to do but wait it out and try to keep her temper in check. Try, and likely fail. With a great yawn, and a much needed stretch, the pale molly got to her feet. Even at the break of dawn, a few early risers were already starting their day, moving quietly around camp and organizing a dawn patrol. All normal, same boring routine as always. Slate blue eyes surveyed the camp silently as Creampaw stepped out into the chill of morning. Still, the air felt good after frosty leafbare mornings. That dim gaze saw no sign of Deertail, so she sat to wait to one edge of camp. Maybe he would enjoy not having to wake up his apprentice like so many other mentors did...or maybe it didn't matter. She didn't know him well enough to know if he cared about such things. |
