A RABBIT-HEARTED GIRL

TYPE OF PLOT: romantic, angst

vervainpaw is a pretty she-cat, even she knows this and often takes it in stride. she is a good friend to those who she deems worthy of the title, but she also has a tendency to be manipulative even if she means no real harm by it. little white lies are told now and again, nothing too bold, but altogether vervainpaw is not a bad soul. she is just young and has not had the best upbringing.

vervainpaw's relationship with her father is less than stellar. he would often tease her as she was growing up about being a prissy thing, about how "she-cats aren't meant to do x". she hates him for it, consequently, and subconsciously seeks out the attentions of other toms to perhaps substitute his lack of faith in her. she finds herself often crushing on older, dashing warriors, dreaming of perhaps how she could find a suitable mate someday, one that would bury her disappointing excuse of a father. 

she ends up an easily lovestruck fool, for it, pining after toms, sure in her heart that they would fall for a she-cat like her. who wouldn't want her? she was striking in appearance and had a quick mind. vervainpaw is positive she can easily find a suitable mate, to the extent that she is blinded by it.

BASICALLY, folks, what i want is for vervainpaw to have her little heart broken multiple times so i can harden her up a bit as a character and to some things into real world perspective for her. it can be either one-sided or returned interest, but i want it to end in heartache ouch. i am not opposed to cross-clan and am prepared for repercussions on that account. i would also prefer older apprentice toms/young warrior toms, if applicable, but if you can see your cat fitting into this plot and does not fall into those categories, feel free to throw them into the mix.

let's say, three - four toms max.
possible types:

NOT INTERESTED: this one could be short and sweet (not-so-sweet, really), with vervainpaw setting her eyes on a tom that does not return the same sentiments. she mostly likely invests so much assurance into thinking he'll fall for her that it crushes her probably more than the tom intends it too. how it ends can vary, on a spectrum of vervainpaw ending up hating him or them becoming friends.

RETURNED BUT FORBIDDEN: the name sort of implies it, a tom from a rival Clan sparks her interest. they are likely caught and the relationship is forced to be terminated. open to expansion of this particular scenario!

THE PLAYER: originally talked to hallelujah with this one but basically the tom in question strings her along for the fun of it. he'll end it abruptly, either having his fill of fun or simply finding her increasing affections to be uncomfortable to his game. "you're pretty and all but haha, i was kidding."

"MAYBE WHEN YOU'RE OLDER": says it in the name, vervainpaw falls for a tom that is much too old for her or at least he thinks so. it can be a 'at first it seemed like a harmless crush' kind of scenario but either way the warrior in question has to shut her down gently.

MISINTERPRETATION: vervainpaw takes a crush's kind words and runs with them. most likely could end on relatively good terms and perhaps a good laugh, but i can also see vervainpaw drowning in embarrassment for thinking that the cat actually was interested.


she'll also need a good friend to cry on their shoulder too, one that she confides in and seeks advice and counsel from even if she doesn't listen. i talked to @scout  about having hicorypaw fill this role (if you're still up to it!)
