The forest for sunrises now has been well on its way through newleaf, and ThunderClan have been fortunate that the typical wet season hadn't brought too many frightening storms upon them. Hibernating prey have already been making their expected debut, and, in fact, it seems often times there is so much life in the brush that it practically gets chased right into waiting claws. Midnightfang is content, consequently, happy that ThunderClan will remain well-fed, possibly well-through the entirety of greenleaf. They would all stay healthy and strong and be able to show it at the next Gathering. He expects the other four Clans have been just as blessed, though, not that it's a contest or anything. Well, it might be, maybe a little. ThunderClan always wins in his eyes, anyway.
Cheery from his own musings, the well-built tom trots over to the juniper bush he'd told Plumpaw to meet him at. Last sunrise, in camp, he had unfortunately all but ran over the white and ginger apprentice. A flurry of amused apologies had left him, but at Plumpaw's mumbling replies, he got the idea to make a better impression on him. The last thing he wants is for any young cat to be wary of him, and Plumpaw had seemed quite skittish indeed. Off the top of his ear, he cannot recall interacting with the apprentice in question personally, but if Midnightfang is certain about one thing it's that every cat in ThunderClan should at least get to know each other on surface level.
And there is absolutely no beating a day as fair as this one. They are sure to have a good time, no doubt. Midnightfang could make the most boring hunting patrol into some derivation of an adventure.
He sits beside the budding junipers, closing bright yellow eyes to bask in the sunshine that filters in through the tree tops; they spill warm green shadows over his ebony pelt.
