Pebbleleaf is remarkably small. They stand quite short compared to the others in their clan, barely reaching shoulder height on some of the bigger warriors. They are quite thin and almost seem to have only a small layer of skin protecting their tiny frame. Their pelt is smooth with medium-long fur length and they have tufts of fur around their ears. Their ears themselves are tall and pointed and their nose is a bright pink colour. Their eyes are a light sky blue and their tail is long and voluptuous. They have an inquisitive expression which often leads people to believe that they are always extremely interested in the world, and to an extent that is true. As a lynx point he has dark brown tabby markings on his muzzle and lower hind and front legs and tail tip.
PERSONALITY
Pebbleleaf is an incredibly kind soul; they wouldn't "hurt a fly", not even if it landed on their nose. Despite their mild anxiety about meeting new people, very little actually disrupts their way of living and they live a very peaceful existence, forever wanting to accommodate others. They never use cruel words and guard their way of speaking quite closely so as not to offend. As a medicine cat they are very altruistic, always giving, be it time or resources. They are always willing to see patients, even at odd hours, and thoroughly enjoy what they do and the happiness they bring to others.
Because of their nature, they are also harmonious and want everyone to get along. While they know this isn't always possible, and this fact frustrates them, they want harmony to be the number one foundation upon which interaction is sought. They are open minded and an excellent listener and try not to judge others or their actions; they dislike being hypocritical. As such they are a progressive character, and when they have enough courage they will defend the rights of those who have been unjustly treated, though this is rare because they do not want to cause hassle in the clan, due to their desire for harmony.
Pebbleleaf is creative and passionate, and though they will follow the code as law, they also know that the treatments that they were taught are not set in stone; they would rather combine a new treatment than follow an existing one if the former means a life is saved. However, the one character who they will always follow the law in the presence of is Falconstar, because the last thing they want is to anger their leader, who they respect deeply. Speaking of deep respect, Pebbleleaf is very passionate about what they do and will work very hard to achieve their goals; they are not a believer in laziness, though they would not voice such an opinion. Because of their hardworking nature there is almost no stone left unturned; Pebbleleaf always tries to do all the tasks that have to be done at that day.
The cat is, however, too idealistic and altruistic, investing in ideas and people that later turned out to be unsuccessful or expecting miraculous outcomes and being disappointed. Because of their tendency to give constantly their own self care may be neglected and they may be working to the point of feeling stressed and worked out because they feel like they owe a duty to the clan to heal everyone except themself. Pebbleleaf is impractical and dislikes the tedious monotonous details of life, hence why they always send their apprentice to collect herbs that they forgot last week, or tell a warrior to tell someone else about a treatment. They dislike facts and sees them as a poor representation of the fluid model of a clan, constantly evolving and changing. Pebbleleaf can take things too personally as an attack and feel persecuted, and they are hard to get to know well. They internalise other peoples' words and tend to dislike being talked about by others: part of the reason they have such intense anxiety on occasion. All in all however they are a respectful character who endeavors to help others through their work.

HISTORY
Pebblekit was born to two ThunderClan parents, Linnetstep and Mottledpelt. Their father was distant, not so much present in the kits' lives and so they were mostly raised by their mother. They were a small litter, only two of them, Gannetkit and Pebblekit, both two small and scrawny kits, perhaps due to the fact they were born late in winter in a time of little food. Nonetheless Mottledpelt cared for them and looked after them as best she could, despite being incredibly busy. Gannetkit and Pebblekit were very close, being only two of them, and despite their small squabbles they liked each other a lot; well, as much as was possible for siblings.
One day, quite out of the blue - this was only a moon or so before their apprenticeship would have begun - the medicine cat Blueberry approached Pebblekit about becoming a medicine cat apprentice. Blueberry had seen an omen, or so she had said, of Pebblekit later on healing a warrior with a severe injury. Pebblekit, quite a shy and reticent character, did not know what to make of this, and so asked Blueberry if they could think about it for some time. Blueberry agreed and after some discussion with their friend Firekit, a much more determined kit, and sister Gannetkit, who both persuaded them to take on the opportunity, Pebblekit decided to become Pebblepaw before the clan; now they would have to be approved by the stars. So they traveled to the Moonstone with Blueberry, drank from the Moonpool and the two laid down to dream.
Blueberry was a large blue-grey tabby she-cat with piercing blue eyes and a hearty laugh. She was quite masculine, in a way, and had a kind of funny blunt way of dealing with things. She always had a strong work ethic and worked hard in her field, and instilled that same kind of hard-working nature in Pebblepaw. Despite her forward nature when it came to things she disliked; she often moaned about the weather or herb collecting for example; she always treated every patient with respect and made sure that no one left her den unwell and insisted that warriors who were too proud to show their injuries see her and made it very clear that she thought no one with an injury or disability was lesser, partially because her own mother gained an injury while patrolling which made her need to retire to the elders' den early. Thus it was largely because of Blueberry that Pebblepaw learned how to treat everyone with fairness and equity, and to follow the rules of the code unless to save a life.
Pebblepaw and Blueberry were well known to make an excellent team, and they were respected by most of the clan. There were some who disliked them, mostly ego-driven warriors and grumpy elders, but most of them thought they served the clan well. Of course Blueberry always sent Pebblepaw to do menial tasks on occasion; perhaps this is where he got this tendency from. It was at this time that Pebblepaw discovered that they were attracted to an apprentice in the clan, but knowing the code brushed these feelings aside. As Pebblepaw would grow up they would realise they were indeed panromantic, in a kind of funny and ironic turn of events, but this did not matter so much to them, as by and large they were asexual and managed to keep romantic feelings aside.
Because of all of this, it was then strange when, Pebblepaw aged around eleven and a half moons, Blueberry revealed her desire to become a warrior. This was unusual, though not unheard of, and made Pebblepaw wonder why Blueberry had decided to do this. Blueberry had not shown a desire to have kits, even less so because she was already around fifty six moons old. She revealed that not only did she feel like Pebblepaw was ready to earn their name, despite being so young, but she also had an insatiable craving to return to warrior life, because she had always secretly wanted to continue with her path towards becoming a warrior, after having become a medicine cat while still in warrior training. Pebblepaw understood this, and half a moon later they would become a full medicine cat, earning the name Pebbleleaf for their herbal skill despite their age at twelve moons old.
Two moons later, Pebbleleaf found out the true reason for Blueberry's retirement: forbidden romance. This was odd to Pebbleleaf as Blueberry had always said that lying was wrong and had always attempted to follow the code, but even at this age Pebbleleaf knew that logic was often blinded by love. They felt hurt by her actions, persecuted even, and could not understand why she would leave them at such a young age to continue the path of medicine cat, all for a romantic affair. Pebbleleaf discovered this when one day, out collecting marigold on the border, they saw Blueberry and her lover, a dark brown tom unknown to Pebbleleaf and definitely not a part of ThunderClan. Blueberry had a look of horror and shock, blurting out that "I can explain!" but it was no use; Pebbleleaf had lost trust in the person they had looked up to all of their life. Soon after this Blueberry left ThunderClan, perhaps out of guilt, love or remorse, but Pebbleleaf knew that they could not worried themself with their past mentor forever and they had to keep on with being a medicine cat.
Eight moons later and Pebbleleaf has gained skill and knowledge as a medicine cat, truly living up to their suffix. They have not decided to take on a medicine cat apprentice yet, but may do so in future, but they will be certain that they will leave their apprentice well equipped and set a good example for them, unlike what Blueberry had done. With a new leader, Falconstar, Pebbleleaf hopes to continue to work tirelessly as they have always done, after all, as they said, there was no rest for the wicked.
