Hi Everyone!

Firstly, a big thank you to everyone who filled out the site survey! It has be closed now, as we’ve had enough people put in their input for some changes to take place across the site. So, what this means is within the next week we will be having a large site update!

Firstly, the site’s theme will be updated to a new look, and hopefully offer everyone a better way of finding things around the site. However, just a reminder for the time being, season information can be found in the information center where all the logged in users are listed. Stuff will be moved in the changes.

Secondly, there will be a major rule and general thread update across the site. A lot of feedback has come in through the survey and separately about issues across the site, and our refined rules have been redone to make the changes people have been asking for around the site. I’m sorry to those who wanted it otherwise, but we will be boosting the minimum word count to 150 words, and we will be cracking down on the cases of exclusion and other issues in the cbox, along with the realism of names and histories across the site.

Thirdly, there will be an update to high rank requirements, to reflect the urge for high ranks to be posting regularly, and being part of the community and managed on a case-by-case basis. They won’t be changing too much, however it will hopefully reflect what people have requested a bit better.

For those who after reading the rule updates when they are released and don’t wish to continue with the site, that is completely fine! They won’t match what everyone wants to continue doing, and you are welcome to take your leave. We just ask you advise us through a thread or through a PM that you are doing so, rather than just straight up deleting or abandoning your account.

These changes will hopefully be in place at earliest Sunday the 14th (GMT +5 and above) and latest Friday the 19th.

This is just a small heads up so you aren't caught unaware.

UPDATE: Hopefully this will go up tomorrow! Until then the allegiances are currently not updated, and some characters may not be accepted due to some rule changes, a full post about updates, changes and details will be put up once everything is done.

Expect some time in the evening when the site will be in maintenance mode and not accessible.

Hi everyone,
This announcement is being made with an extremely heavy heart, and we know it may not be a popular one. However, Alee and I have made the decision that we are going to be closing Chasing the Sun by the end of the month. Originally, we were going to wait till the end of the activity check before making the call either way, as no doubt some of you picked up from my introduction to the check itself. But, after seeing some of the most recent hiatuses and their updates, and talking with a few members who will not be continuing on the site, we’ve decided at this stage in time, it’s the right time to bring things to a close.

Chasing the Sun is a play-by-post roleplay based on the Warriors series by Erin Hunter. We are set in the original forest in an alternative universe from the books, where SkyClan were never forced from the forest and the characters we have known and loved have not existed. We have a 150-word minimum and a sandbox roleplay setting that does not have an overarching plot, only those that members form together. The world is there to shape by the characters than inhabit it, growing the forest into something unique from what we have seen before. With plenty of characters and a community that is always looking for new people to join in the fun, we are always happy to have new faces joining the ranks! THUNDERCLAN VERSES BADGERS
Due to a change of high ranks that is to take place, this plot has been updated and modified. if you were originally involved, please make sure to check the thread and voice if you still want involvement as soon as possible! The Forest Prince is the the current thread leading into the start of this plot.

WIND/SHADOW VERSES ROGUES
Redstar, Rosestar and their fellow high ranks of WindClan and ShadowClan have met on the border of the clans and formed a truce, after it has become aware that a group of rogues has become a threat. Both leaders have addressed this issue in their clan meetings, with Rosestar setting the rule that until the rogues have been dealt with, cats are not to leave camp alone.

WINDCLAN - MEDICINE CAT PLOT
A significant change has taken place in the direction of this plot, and the main post has now been edited to reflect such. We are still looking for WindClan cats to be involved, so if you have a cat you’d like to have something happen to, places are still open.

SKYCLAN VERSES RIVERCLAN
With the border clash narrowly avoided by Pinestar’s intervention, steam has yet to ease, as the SkyClan patrol stand in camp to address the clan getting too ambitious. Meanwhile, with the change in leadership of RiverClan causing discomfort across the clan, there is no doubt that everyone is on edge. Another clash is imminent.
