Off into the sunset Living like there's nothing left to lose There had been whispers around the nursery, he knew there had been. Not a moon earlier, Hawk-kit had became Hawkpaw. The stranger that had been put in the nursery, looking like one of the worst groomed kits ever. He had watched quietly during the time Hawk-kit had been with them. He had been a bit older. But not by much. And he had been part of SkyClan for less time then they had been, yet still Hawk-kit had been given the name Hawkpaw before Vervainkit and Campionkit had. Granted, it had left him a bit miffed during the first days. But now? Now it was his turn and he would do well. He would become a great apprentice and he would roll into warriorhood becoming even greater. Puffing out his chest a bit, he frantically licked over his chest to make himself look a bit more proper, grunting when he felt his mother's tongue rasp over his back. There was a rumble before a content purr broke free from him as he allowed his mother to smooth out his fur so he would look more presentable. Tail swishing lightly, he shot his mother a glance over the shoulder when she gently nudged him forward. He took in a deep breath before standing tall and stepping forward gracefully, eyes bright as he gazed up at the leader of SkyClan. Pinestar. Would he one day be standing there? Calling out to his clan? It was a dream he was willing to follow after. His tail flicked to his sister momentarily, touching her flank and giving her a stare before looking back at Pinestar as he spoke. His sister was given Deertail as a mentor and he whispered a congratulation in her direction, joy glinting in his green hues. He hoped Deertail would do his sister right during her apprenticeship. And perhaps they could train together every now and then. He'd show her! He'd become better than her, surely. Though that did not take away the love he felt for his sister, of course. Campionkit quickly looked up when Pinestar addressed him, bright eyes wide as he gazed at the larger cat, pushing himself up a bit before purring loudly when he was given his name. Campionpaw. Dipping his head down respectfully he finally turned to the mentor he was given, eyes widening a bit and ears pining back. He was huge. Shaking off the thought he quickly bounded toward Lionstorm, careful not to make a fool of himself as he stretched his neck and touched his nose to his newly appointed mentor. Campionpaw |
