“
We were victims of the night, the chemical, physical, kryptonite. Helpless to the bass and the fading light we were bound to get together, bound to get together. She took my arm, I don't know how it happened. We took the floor and she said, "don't you dare look back, just keep your eyes on me." I said, "You're holding back," She said, "Shut up and dance with me!" This woman is my destiny, she said, "Shut up and dance WITH ME."
Wolfheart had no problem keeping up with Falconstar and enjoyed the brisk pace. Out of habit, she kept checking to see if Yewpaw was having trouble keeping up, but everytime she did she had to remind herself that her apprentice hadn't been invited. Which was normal, not all of the apprentices got to always go, and he'd surely be able to go next time.
She came to a halt behind the leader and the deputy as the tom addressed the group. She'd been to enough Gatherings that she was not worried about how she would conduct herself. She was a little anxious if only because she usually came to these with either her sister or mother, and neither had come along, so she felt a bit... alone. She swished her tail as the cats stepped into the clearing. She watched everyone disperse, their leader joining the other four leaders, while the medicine cats all were lounging, not unlike the elders.
Unable to make a decision, Wolfheart found herself shadowing Blizzardclaw, who was hanging around with his daughter, Lightpaw, likely excited that he got to share her first Gathering with her. She found herself trying to join the conversation, but an exclamation from another one of the Thunderclan apprenticed had drawn several cat's attention. Blizzardclaw and Lightpaw were walking towards them and Wolfheart hung back awkwardly as the white tom took the other apprentice and led them off. She flicked her tail and looked around for someone familiar, only to catch sight of Hazelclaw. The she-cat continued on ahead and nodded her head in greeting to the two deputies. She recognized Whitewater of Riverclan as well.
"Yes, congratulations," Wolfheart said as well, joining their conversation. It felt a little odd and a little forced, but Hazelclaw and Whitewater were both good cats, so she doubted they would glare or try to send her off. "And thanks for helping out Sootpaw," she added.
