For all her keenness to listen and be involved, she had to admit, clan politics was even more boring than being on guard duty. StarClan, while she liked her gossip too, so much of it was treading carefully, watching this, doing that. It all seemed like so much more work than anything else. She had to bite back a yawn just at her friend’s words about talking to Rosestar about it, the possibility of retaliation, letting the clan know after the talk had happened, wow, there really was too much seriousness attached to some rogues hanging around. But, she supposed that was why Redstar was leader and not her. Maybe if she was a medicine cat or something she’d have more interest in really getting into her head the strategy behind it all, but right there and then, it wasn’t her concern, she was simply a sounding board to it all.
"if rosestar wishes not to help, then windclan will take care of this on their own and we will chase them across the border and teach them a lesson." Cindermist refocused on the conversation, ears lowering slightly. The quietness of Redstar’s voice was enough to stress how much of a bother it was on the she-cat’s mind. Well, she couldn’t offer too much in the name of correct strategic talk, but, she could at least be a comfort of some description. The warrior looked at her paws briefly, before lifting her head and pushing it under Redstar’s chin, rubbing her cheek against the she-cat’s chest. “We are awesome like that, we don’t need no ShadowClanners to kick tail,” he meowed in agreement after a moment, burying her nose the Redstar’s fur.
However, hears ears, despite being slightly flattened, did catch the leader’s next quiet words. "however, would you mind accompanying me and swiftfoot to the meeting? i would be honoured to have your opinion with me no matter how things turn out with rosestar." Immediately, the she-cat let out a low, hesitant, “ehh,” her nose wrinkling immediately. If it was just her presence alongside Redstar, maybe it would be a different case. But Swiftfoot being there? StarClan, no. As much fun as she had winding up the she-cat, in an official situation, which might make things… not so great. “I somehow feel that my presence would bring out the worst in Swiftfoot,” she meowed, finally pulling her head back to look at Redstar again.
“But, if you want me there, I’ll come, and try my best to keep my mouth shut.” Not that she could promise much, but, well, that was something. Who knew, maybe she could keep them from getting too morbid about the whole idea. They were just some dumb rogues after all. Cindermist reached forward to bump the top of her head against her friend’s cheek. “No promises, though.”
