It probably wasn't healthy to be this wound up. Blossompaw wouldn't know, she'd have to ask Crowpaw later, but how could it NOT be? Ever since Rosestar had made the decree that apprentices weren't to leave camp alone because of flesh-eating rogues (and how weird was THAT?) she hadn't been able to leave the camp at ALL.
Brightscar said it was for her own good and that they'd resume training once the threat had been dealt with. Kestrelnose was too afraid for her hyperactive attention-deficit daughter to take her anywhere, like she was WORRIED Blossompaw would get distracted by something and lured into- into- what, a heathen ceremony where a bunch of creepy despots feast on the flesh of their prisoners to make themselves stronger?
Because seriously, who in their right mind would eat CAT meat? It was disgusting to even think about! And even knowing that, she couldn't stop thinking about it. Did all cats taste the same? Were there different flavors to different kind of cats, like the difference between a vole and a water vole? Did older cats taste better or younger? Was a younger cat's meat tenderer to eat and easier to chew?
Blossompaw shuddered from where she lay flopped about by the apprentice den, and she looked at her half eaten frog with thinly veiled nausea. Suddenly her appetite was as absent as Webpaw and Spottedpaw had been recently.
The calico looked around the camp to find the two cats who meant the most to her, but lo and behold, neither were near. Spottedpaw's mentor didn't balk at taking her out to train, and it seemed like Webpaw was spending even MORE time out of camp since he was Rosestar's apprentice!
It was infuriating! It was totally unfair! It was... incredibly lonely. Blossompaw sighed loudly and pushed away the frog, curling up where she was to take a short nap. Maybe one of her friends would come back while she was asleep, and then she wouldn't be alone anymore...
