A yawn was threatening to escape Cindermist’s jaws even before she actually pushed herself through the gorse and out into WindClan’s territory. In all honesty, she had no reason to be doing so either. The wind swept through, carrying the scents of rabbits and grass flowing smoothly across the sooth soil, the sun hanging high above, radiating down on them. Everything seemed fresh and clear, a marker of exactly how close Greenleaf was to reaching them. For Cindermist especially, given she had barely moved a mouse-length all day, certainly had no reason to demonstrate tiredness. Not that it would ever stop her from complaining that she needed more sleep.
The she-cat’s paws moved with small thuds, her weight pushed down into every movement with no concern over the grace or elegance of the stride. The sun glinted against the silver spots across her pelt, bright green eyes scanning the path ahead half-heartedly. She knew where she was going, of course. After trying to convince Redstar to give her ideas for what to even do with Owlpaw, eventually, it was an introduction to the tunnels that was settled on. The tom knew how to hunt in the most basic of terms, knew the basics of fighting. Now, it was just the rest of their territory that was left. So, she’d prearranged for the tom to meet her by the entrance to the tunnels, and they’d take it from there.
It even seemed like she might arrive first, as the looms holes into the ground came into sight. They were a permanently dark space, a spot on the otherwise bright territory that stretched around them. But, perhaps a key benefit to them. At least sometimes. Tail flicking, Cindermist approached with ears pricked. However, at least on the surface, it seemed like she was there first. Well that was a change. The though had her drawing to a stop just outside the tunnel entrance, and looking around. All being said and done, maybe she was finally getting her act together enough to show up on time. Then again, it made her plenty suspicious that she was just being hunted like prey, too.
The she-cat tasted the air for a moment, however the damp, solid scent of rocks and soil filled her nose too much to pick out must else. If the scent was there, it was weak. Cindermist shrugged instead, and sat herself down, jaws parting in another wide, extensive yawn. Okay, she really needed to stop acting like being there was exhausting enough.
