Slowly the she-cat stared to Swiftfoot the bitch how dare she do this to her! She looked as the cat stepped off het and she softly hissed as her tail fluffed up and her neck hairs prickled. She growled softly and raised an eyebrow. 'Excuse me? I really dont care about what you think of me. Atleast I am a fullblood warrior. I will not take orders from your worthless ass, you idiot!' She told the She-cat without any remorse, she pissed her off herself it was her own responsibility on how she dared the young cat. 'Besides that you ugly piece of rotten kill. Fighting dirty is how you strays survive so go away nobody likes you.' She laughed as she looked at the deputy

Oh great. This was going nowhere. How she wanted to rip the cat before her clean into shreds. That's not the Windclan way though. Annoyance bubbled in the pit of her stomach; unfortunately, as deputy she should know better. She was no longer an alley cat, where skirmishes and disagreements were resolved by teeth and claws alone. Redstar would be disapproving of her fight with the snarky she-cat, she knew that much.

Perhaps it was time to lift herself above Northernlight's level. Petty fighting would get them both nowhere; this was just going back and forth.

And then she had to bring up her past.

The game was on again.

"What did you say?" Her forceful snarl tore her throat, and the mild rage she'd felt at being disobeyed had now sparked into a burning ball of hate. "My history has nothing to do with this! I might not have clean blood, but I've proven myself time and time again to be a competent warrior! How dare you imply that I am anything but!"

She felt herself tremble. Finally, with a startling hiss, she butted Northernlight with her head. "That's it. To Redstar you go." She couldn't deal with it; she had to face that embarrassing fact. "Oh boy, and when she's done with you, you'll be sorry!"

The she-cat her beautiful blue eyes stared into the green eyes of the deputy. Noirthernlight started to laugh and shook her head on the idiotic question of what she did say. 'Atleast I am a fullblood warrior. I will not take orders from your worthless ass, you idiot' She smiled and looked at the deputy who kept being moronic idiot with her wannabee rank. Her hate was almost dripping from her voice. 'Oh my starclan why dont you even listen to me i said you were a worthless piece of trash. Not that you were an incompotent warrior. I just hate you. Theyre is a difference you know.' She said as if she was being extremly kind and friendly. 'You stray!' She whispered annoyed.
Sha started to laugh and shook her head once more. Right, sure as if Redstar would even give a single shit about the cat. She was propably only a deputy because she felt bad for her. Besides that Northernlight only used words where Swiftfoot used her claws. 'Yeah and Redstar would love to hear about you attacking clanmates.' She snarled with a smile.

"And how better are you? You barely contribute to the Clan! All you do is laze about all day, leeching off the warriors who work hard to fill the fresh-kill pile." Her gaze hardened. "If I am nothing more than a stray, you are nothing more than a kittypet. A worthless, lazy, good-for-nothing twoleg pet! You would serve Windclan well to leave us, and never return."

Suddenly she straightened up. Flexing her claws, Swiftfoot added, "perhaps I did make a mistake in attacking you. Redstar will punish me as she sees fit. I am not one to keep secrets from her. But make no mistake - we're going to Redstar. You won't be let off easy either. Like it or not, I am deputy; no matter what you think of me, I still hold power over you."

REDSTAR

it was the sheer utter fact that she was trying to avoid gingerfleck as much as physically possible that she was out in the territory so early that morning. it was ridiculous how the tom could not take a freaking hint that she was not interested what-so-ever; and frankly, she didn't want to get her brother involved. while stoneshade was more than capable of being a big, menacing warrior, she knew he wouldn't hesitate to make a point.

with a flick of her tail, redstar let her mind wander as her paws pounded against the ground, allowing the cool wind to brush her fur. it felt good to run, to be in the open air. however, despite her leasure, redstar caught scent of two familiar cats. she knew that neither northernlight, nor swiftfoot were on the dawn patrol and wondered what exactly they were doing so far out from camp at the early hour. slowing her paws, blue gaze casting around quickly to make sure there was no danger nearby she crouched low and began to crawl forward. while she wasn't paranoid and she didn't want to spy, she was just curious as to what was going on. that was, until she heard what was going on.

"there is a difference you know. you stray!" redstar could tell that it was northernlight just by the voice, and frankly, if she was about to get a confermation that swiftfoot was there, this was not going to end well and she knew it. pushing down the growl in her throat to leap forward and tear them both new ones, redstar leaned forward and listened, ears pricked as she sat down-wind from the two warriors. "if i'm nothing more than a stray, you are nothing more than a kittypet. a worthless, lazy, good-for-nothing twoleg pet!" yeah, that was swiftfoot. the ginger leader knew this was getting out of hand, but she wanted to see if anything else was said before stepping in, and what she got was less than good. "perhaps i did make a mistake in attacking you." what? "redstar will punish me as she sees fit... but make no mistake... you wont be let off easy either. like it or not, i am deputy; no matter what you think of me, i still hold power over you."

that was it. she was not going to tolerate this in her clan. with a snarl escaping from her throat, the dark ginger she-cat leaped from where she crouched, baring her teeth as she landed on her paws near the two warriors. "that is enough. swiftfoot, northernlight, get your tails over here, now." for as good as she is in the mornings, her day was about to get a whole lot worse.

She started to laugh the she-cat thought she was funny or something but she knew she was better. She knew that Swiftfoot was just a sad excuse for a deputy. She laughed at the lame arguments the she-cat told her how she was a kittypet and not contributing to the clan. She just shook her head as she still laught quietly. 'Well i am pretty and you well I've told you already you old smelly rotten prey.' She smiled and had too much fun from her words but before she could reply the ginger coloured leader jumped down from the place she had been on. She raised an eyebrow and started to laugh while she watched the leader get mad. Why could these stupid she-cats not leave her alone for one single moment. As if she was so important to get mad at. She shook her head and turned the other way. 'How about no, go bother that stray version of a deputy.' She did not want to talk to anyone she wanted to just be alone and maybe calm down, that idiot of a Swiftfoot totally made her angry and close to aggresive.

Fear shot through the brown she-cat; something that seemed so foreign, so strange to her that for a moment she appeared like a startled apprentice, ears pinned back against her skull and whiskers trembling with a mixture of anticipation and trepidation. When she saw it was Redstar she slightly relaxed, the fur settling around her shoulders, though she kept her head bowed and lowered her tail in shame.

She knew she'd done wrong. Mistakes like this only further reminded her that she was an unworthy deputy, haunted by a past none of her clan-mates could relate to, nor frankly bother to understand. She threw one last sharp glance at Northernlight - she's your leader, you fool!- before padding towards her superior, nodding respectfully.

"Redstar, I apologize," came her solemn meow. Had Redstar seen her fight with Northernlight? Somehow, from the hard look in her eyes, she could tell that she had. This only further deepened the knot of shame she felt, weighing deep like stone in her chest. "As you can see...our argument became ridiculous. For that, I ask you to forgive me. This...she-cat here refused to listen to my orders. Things became rather immature after that."

"how about no, go bother that stray version of a deputy." at the cream-colored warrior's comment, redstar felt her own fur bristle and her hackles rise. she didn't care what the conflict was about, but these sort of comments towards another warrior despite their background was going to be unacceptable. redstar knew what swiftfoot's history was like as a stray, even if some things were just hearsay stories, but even she could probably remember when northernlight was born. if a feline had been in the clan, accepted none-the-less, then there was no reason to say such things even out of anger if you'd known them your whole life. then there was the fact that northernlight refused to come near when asked.

"redstar, i apologize. as you can see... our argument became ridiculous. for that, i ask you to forgive me." swiftfoot's words made redstar take in a breath and calm down slightly. this was not the way to go about things, and she needed to do this right; though problems were not going to continue, that was for sure. "this... she-cat here, refused to listen to my orders. things became rather immature after that." turning her blue gaze towards her deputy, the windclan leader gave a curt nod before speaking to the elder warrior. "you and i will have a talk later back in my den," redstar said with a low growl.

turning her gaze once more towards the cream-colored warrior, redstar lashed her tail once more before baring her teeth lightly. "northernlight, come here and explain what happened. i wont ask again." it was at these words that redstar let her claws slide onto the terrain below her and narrowed her eyes. she didn't want to, but this was about to come to where northernlight was going to get two options, and she was going to like neither of them.

Hi everyone,
This announcement is being made with an extremely heavy heart, and we know it may not be a popular one. However, Alee and I have made the decision that we are going to be closing Chasing the Sun by the end of the month. Originally, we were going to wait till the end of the activity check before making the call either way, as no doubt some of you picked up from my introduction to the check itself. But, after seeing some of the most recent hiatuses and their updates, and talking with a few members who will not be continuing on the site, we’ve decided at this stage in time, it’s the right time to bring things to a close.

Chasing the Sun is a play-by-post roleplay based on the Warriors series by Erin Hunter. We are set in the original forest in an alternative universe from the books, where SkyClan were never forced from the forest and the characters we have known and loved have not existed. We have a 150-word minimum and a sandbox roleplay setting that does not have an overarching plot, only those that members form together. The world is there to shape by the characters than inhabit it, growing the forest into something unique from what we have seen before. THUNDERCLAN VERSES BADGERS
Due to a change of high ranks that is to take place, this plot has been updated and modified. if you were originally involved, please make sure to check the thread and voice if you still want involvement as soon as possible! The Forest Prince is the the current thread leading into the start of this plot.

WIND/SHADOW VERSES ROGUES
Redstar, Rosestar and their fellow high ranks of WindClan and ShadowClan have met on the border of the clans and formed a truce, after it has become aware that a group of rogues has become a threat. Both leaders have addressed this issue in their clan meetings, with Rosestar setting the rule that until the rogues have been dealt with, cats are not to leave camp alone.

WINDCLAN - MEDICINE CAT PLOT
A significant change has taken place in the direction of this plot, and the main post has now been edited to reflect such. We are still looking for WindClan cats to be involved, so if you have a cat you’d like to have something happen to, places are still open.

SKYCLAN VERSES RIVERCLAN
With the border clash narrowly avoided by Pinestar’s intervention, steam has yet to ease, as the SkyClan patrol stand in camp to address the clan getting too ambitious. Meanwhile, with the change in leadership of RiverClan causing discomfort across the clan, there is no doubt that everyone is on edge. Another clash is imminent.
