❊ like a little danger ❊
Snowsnap always had a fondness for the rain. Not necessarily torrential downpours or thunderstorms- though the latter could be exciting to watch, from the warm, dry shelter of the warrior’s den. But a drizzle always made for pleasant weather, he thought, what with the overcast sky and fresh-smelling air. And what better way to spend the day than on a fishing trip?
He wandered about the territory for several minutes, trying to find the right spot to settle in and wait for his prey to swim by. The river on the ThunderClan border would serve well, he finally decided- and knowing the other Clans' dislike of the water, he suspected he wouldn’t be seeing anyone from the opposing Clan either. Probably hiding in their dens, the tom thought to himself with a slight smirk. Not that any ThunderClan warrior was enough to worry him, even if they did decide to cross the border.
The white-furred cat seated himself just on his side of the bank, poised over the water’s surface, unmoving even as the occasional raindrop hit his short pelt. The river’s surface was glassy, save for the gentle ripples here and there; dark shadows beneath marked the presence of fish. Their shapes were enticing, but Snowsnap could be patient. He was fast, not strong, and it took a lot of effort to strike through the water all the way to the bed of the river… But if he waited until they were closer to the surface, until there was a swell in the river, catching his prey would be a cinch.
