His ears flicked too-and-fro as his mental state turned around ; a high-pitched yowl could be heard before he bolted right up from his sleep.
Was it a nightmare? Blurrypaw sat there in a bit of disbelief that, despite his heart pounding, despite the blood rushing in his ears, he couldn't really rememeber what the nightmare was about. With his whiskers twitching, he dropped his body low to the ground, beginning to stalk around any other cat still asleep. While the sun had not yet peaked over the horizon, it was clear by the traffic of warriors that the time of dawn would soon be upon the Clan.
Sitting upright about two foxtails away from his original position, he began grooming himself, rapidly licking at his left paw as he stared at the small amount of fresh-kill that was laid before him - before the whole Clan. Brightening himself up with a large smile, he seemed to stroll jovially towards a small mouse. He figured that anything bigger would probably try to eat him, rather than the other way around.
Despite the dream, this idea produced a chuckle from his throat - though it was rather dry. He laid down carefully ; Blurrypaw produced a sigh of relief - the fresh dew of the morning grass eased his mind, and denied it the horrific of wondering around with his past memory. Instead, it almost forced him to focus on the small heat that still originated, though slightly, from the mouse. He ate it slowly, secretly hoping that some of the other apprentices woke up. His chest felt heavy, and he began to wonder - his mind was roaming around again. With a heavy paw, he crushed a half of the mouses rib cage ; while it wasn't an amazing feat, he didn't generally do that unless he was done. Blurrypaw had not even taken more than half a bite before the blood had splattered across his face.
He jumped as the liquid hit him, though quickly dug his face into the mouse to make it seem like it may have been on purpose. He figured it'd be better to seem like a messy eater, than someone who just wonders, letting their food turn into crowfood. After he was done, he berried the mouse ; not too much longer after that did he begin to clean his face with rapid licks to his paw, and then to the spot. His stained emerald colored eyes scanned the area for anyone to talk to - he'd even really accept a cat he didn't like, to be frank. However, maybe he wanted to be by himself...
No! He enjoyed talking to others - he'd even sometimes get a little too wound up in conversations like with the elders or older apprentices. His stomach seemed to churn, though he didn't make any notion that the cat would fall over. Instead, he sat quickly ; with his tail wrapped around his dampened paws, he closed his eyes. Maybe he ate too fast? He figured this was the case.
"It might be good to go and talk to Beetleberry then, huh?" He asked himself rhetorically, as if he couldn't answer himself through speech or through his mind. "Maybe later."
