tiny (paw) of thunder high
High above, the clear blue sky stretches out across the vast beyond, the browns and grays of the school building seeming to reach for them, in a competition with the oak trees that grew large and strong across the peaceful campus. Voices and chatter seemed to radiate throughout the ground, the occasional enthusiastic laugh and yell reaching slightly higher than most voices, however, for the most part, peace remained.
Thankfully, sitting under one of the trees, the furthest from the building she could find without being out of bounds, it seemed like she was mostly alone. Well, more she and Raven would be alone whenever he got there. Even if she was starting to think that maybe this... hadn't be the best idea she'd ever had. Her short brown hair fluttered about with another small burst of wind, the tips of a few of the strands sticking to her face. She didn't pay it much mind though, just brushing it back with a smooth hand movement, the other hand gripping her copy of romeo and juliet a little tighter.
The group assignment had come suddenly, and in her excitement, she'd about attached to Raven's arm before he could voice otherwise. That was what he was sitting next to her for though, right? Plus, he was enthusiastic, and even if he denied it, there was no mistaking that he had just as much of an interest in shakespeare as she did. At least enough of one that the whole unit wasn't torture. However, after they'd agreed to meet up at lunch to practice... well, it dawned on her. That did mean they needed to read out lines of romeo and juliet to each other, and practice their presentation of them so they could repeat it in class.
Tiny let out a huff of breath, and dropped her head down toward her crossed legs, not quite touching them, but bending over enough that her forehead brushed the book. It was okay though. As awkward as it was... not doubt going to be. Raven was a friend, and one that would make the whole activity fun, right? Plus, they didn't need to spend all their time reading the line, right? The freshman straightened, and let out another sigh, running her fingers through her hair one more time, before reaching to tug her skirt a little straighter.
Well, either way, she couldn't bail now. She'd just have to... hope that the activity wasn't as awkward as it was in her head when he did arrive. If he hadn't gotten distracted by the football team going past again, like he had the last few lunches.
