all the more a pair of,

Sunlight was leaking through the trees and—to be honest—it was a little warmer today than it had been in a long time. The sun seemed to be intent on warming the forest floor, reaching through bare branches to stroke the backs of prey and predator alike. A breath of relief seemed to be hovering over the whole area—thank StarClan. Warmth at last.
Squirrelfang was asleep.
This was a rarity in and of itself—not sleep itself, just the fact that she was sleeping in the Clan territory. The she-cat was constant movement and worked with a fever. It was rare to ever catch her sitting still, but lying curled up where she might come across as somewhat vulnerable was an oddity to be certain. If you could call it curled up. The ginger tabby was lying on her side, tail twitching in her sleep every few moments and paws flexing with the efforts of some dream.
She’d been hunting before she passed out. The problem with working with such a fever is that one tended to become exhausted when they burned their energy out, and when Squirrelfang was upset or uncomfortable she tended to work and move even more. It wasn’t that she was quite “upset” in every instance of the word. She was just… whatever.
Well, at the moment she wasn’t anything more than dead asleep. The she-cat had collapsed into a patch of ferns after managing to round up a particularly pesky squirrel and before she’d known what was going on she’d drifted off. Now she snored softly, as if completely unaware of the world that was around her. Pity the cat that would stumble on her and wake her—unless she happened to have a soft spot for them. She could be brusque with just about anyone but there were few that could wake her without getting an angry cat pouncing on their back.
