Sandfeather has very long, tufty pale ginger colored fur. Her tabby stripes that acompany her ginger fur are hardly noticable except for on her face and forelegs due to her fur length. Her shoulders are darker due to her tabby markings, as is her tail tip. She has a rather appealing face, and likes to consider herself good looking. She has amber eyes. Sandfeather is a rather large cat, and her fluffy fur makes her seem even larger. As you move down her forelegs, her fur gets duskier as it becomes less saturated.
PERSONALITY
Sandfeather is very curious, and, despite her best efforts, often finds herself in trouble because of it. Her curiosity also helps her learn new things about her surroundings that some others either thought was obvious, or did not care to know. Who knew that leaves on the tops of trees were the same as the ones closer to the ground? And birds actually live in trees too! Sandfeather learns by experience, and needs to do something before she can understand it. This creates an even deeper curiosity of the world, though it can cause her to be a little untrusting. If some cat said RiverClan cats actually eat fish, how could Sandfeather know that they were telling the truth? Instead of taking what others say as automatic truth, she has to go see it with her own eyes before she would believe it. Unfortunately.
This cat is very bouncy, and will often be seen 'jumping' around the clearing and nursery for no apparent reason. Of course, Sandfeather has a reason. It is because of her boundless energy that never seems to run dry. Her excitableness makes become thrilled at even small achievements, such as catching a grasshopper or counting all the cats in the clearing. And Sandfeather has nothing against sharing her many achievements with her clanmates. She never acts like it is anything that the others could not do, though, and is in fact quite humble.
No matter who the cat is or what they have done, Sandfeather will accept them as a living being and will respect their feelings to the best of her ability. So you are a cold and mean elder? Sandfeather would do her best to bring you the absolute best news from around the clan. You are very shy and too scared to talk to others? Sandfeather will hobble over to you and become your best friend. Even though she is very kind, she can become a bit over-protective and clingy once she has a cat who she can call a friend. She would never let you do anything dangerous alone.
Positive: Friendly, Humble, Eager to learn, Accepting, Respectful, Curious, Bouncy, Loving, Gentle
Negative: Impulsive, Distrusting, Naïve, Unrealistic, Over-protective, Fearful, Unpredictable

HISTORY
Sandkit was born in a fairly typical family. She did not have any major qualms with her sister, Flamekit, and she had two loving parents. Sandkit and Flamekit were both very rambunctious, running around the clearing like little menaces. She was never the most cautiouskitten, and would run into trouble with her sister wherever she went. But as they grew, the two grew apart. Flamekit was much to obsessive about her appearance and how she appeared to others for Sandkit's liking, and Sandkit would frequently try to get her sister to lighten up when they were around others. Eventually, Flamekit snapped, and she ruined the pairs relationship. She began to spread rumors about her sister, and Sandpaw realized that she needed a new friend. She met many, the two closest ones being Snowpaw and Lionpaw. They may have been apprentices, but at least they didn't believe Flamekit's rumors.
Sandpaw was mentored by a strict mentor. At first, she was a little upset at the leader for picking him as her mentor, but she quickly got over it as soon as she saw how talented this tom was at fighting. They trained and trained, and she excelled at fighting. However, she was an absolutely horrible hunter. Her mentor cared little. He was just looking to make her a good fighter. She loved to play with Snowpaw and Lionpaw while they were still apprentices, and they hung out often even when Snowpaw was named Snowbird and Lionpaw was named Lionfoot.
Finally, Sandpaw was ready to become a warrior. Or at least, that was what she believed. She had completed her fighting assessment with flying colors, and, although she had not yet completed her hunting assessment, she knew that hunting was of minimum priority. Her mentor had told her so. Sandpaw decided to take Snowbird and Lionfoot, who had gotten her name about a moon ago, on an adventure. She decided that they were going to go into SkyClan territory.
Snowbird protested, but Sandpaw and Lionfoot would have none of it. She had made up her mind, and he would do anything for and adventure. They traveled to SkyClan territory, careful not to disturb anyone. Sandpaw had just been curious, that is all. But when an enemy patrol found her, she had no time to react. It seemed that she was not the only one to break the warrior code, because before she knew it a warrior had her by her hind leg, holding her back as his partner grabbed Snowbird by the throat. The SkyClanners were young, they must have not known better. Because Sandpaw was was forced to watch, screaming out to not hurt the one she loved, as Snowbird was murdered. Lionfoot screeched as he tried to dislodge himself from the enemy's claws.
That was bad enough, they only made it worse for Sandpaw. The other tom lunged at her, grabbing at her throat, but Sandpaw was able to dodge. He got her tail in his jaws and pulled as Sandpaw thrashed. But she had no chance as soon as a sickening crack sounded. She collapsed to the ground, her eyes rolling from the pain. She tried to move. Her front legs worked but…but her hind legs were frozen in place, splayed awkwardly. She was going to die right next to her only friend. Fitting, wasn’t it? By now, she had made a decision. She was going to take her death with dignity.
She awoke in ThunderClan's medicine cat den. Turns out that those cats had been rogues who had also been trespassing, and Lionfoot had managed to chase them away with the help of a SkyClan patrol. They brought back Sandpaw and her friend’s body to ThunderClan, surprisingly no questions asked, and Sandpaw will be forever grateful to them.
The medicine cat said that, except for a couple scrapes, she was not hurt. The medicine cat was wrong. All day, Sandpaw would just lie in the nest and do nothing. The medicine cat assumed that she was just depressed, but eventually she noticed something was actually wrong with her legs. Sandpaw’s hind legs were paralyzed. The pull on her tail had broken her spine.
After several moons of attempting to recover, it was decided that she would never walk again. There was a debate on what to do with her after that. Could she still be a warrior, or would she be forced to become an elder at such an early age? It ended up being Flameheart, her sister, who suggested that she attempt to become a medicine cat. Sandfeather was pleased, she wanted to help her clan instead of rotting away in the elders den for eternity.
She started her training early the next day. Everything was so much more difficult that she had expected, but she fell into place suprisingly easily. She was decent at remembering herbs, and she loved to go outside and try to gather them. In the time that she had been injured, she had grown close to the medicine cat, and thought of the tom almost as another father.
She was shocked when a scuffle took place and Lionfoot came back injured. He was bleeding heavily from his side, and Sandpaw raced to clean him up again. It was difficult to get the bleeding to stop, and she will always remember when her mentor came to her and yelled at her for doing the wrong thing. For almost killing him. It was the first and only time the older cat snapped at her, partially because after that she was very careful to not make mistakes.
Finally, she recieved her full name, Sandfeather, for her long fur. Her mentor decided to retire to the warriors den. Since, she has been going about her duties as any good medicine cat should, and she tried her hardest to be the best that she can be. This has not destroyed her spirit though, and she has been seen daring apprentices to pull lighthearted pranks or playing with the kits.
