Hi Everyone!

So Skyy and I have been working on a major plot which will involve both Skyclan and Riverclan. As you may have gleaned from her other plot thread, this plot will really get moving with the border skirmish between the two clans. I'm going to lay out a bit of the rest of the plan here for you! Bear with me!

Following Pinestar's meeting with Magpiestar in the Riverclan camp, Pinestar is going to make a public comment on Magpiestar's ability to lead Riverclan. While of course Magpiestar will react to this with no small degree of rage - there may be some in Riverclan who don't entirely disagree with Pinestar. This moment will be the beginning of the fermentation of rebellion. Whisperings will begin - instigated primarily by three or four members of the clan.

Issues will come to a head at the next Gathering, where Pinestar will again make a public comment to all of the clans about Magpiestar needing to retire. When RC returns to their camp, things are ready to boil over. A rebellion has begun!

Let me make this clear - the goal of the rebels is NOT to kill Magpiestar! They don't want him dead, they just want him to retire in favor of Whitewater/current deputy. The clan will essentially be split in two - the rebels, and those who support Magpiestar. I am not actually relinquishing Magpie or leadership of RC, so Magpie and his faction are going to win. The majority of the LEADERS of the rebellion WILL BE EXILED by Magpiestar, though the followers will be shown mercy.

BUT IT GETS CRAZIER! Remember Skyclan and their weird desire to own the river? Well in the midst of the rebellion (which will turn violent, and some lucky cat will get to inflict a major wound on Magpie), Skyclan is going to invade Riverclan. Magpie's leadership of RC to victory in this battle will secure his victory against the rebels, but at a cost.

So if you want to be involved - either minimally or majorly - feel free to sign up below! The only requirement is that Magpie have more supporters than rebels. And remember - if you sign up to be a leader of the rebellion, you ARE RISKING EXILE. One or two of the rebel leaders are adoptables, mostly because I would like Minnowleap (Magpie's daughter) to lead against him.

I can throw Egretpaw and when she's actually an apprentice, Maplepaw (currently Maplekit) as supporters of Magpiestar. Despite Egretpaw's indifference towards Magpiestar, he respects his grandfather and wouldn't turn against him. If you'd like, this could be (for them at least) set after their Heart-to-heart and Egret having voiced his concerns the two get a better relationship and then this happens. Maplekit/paw however, she'll have looked up to Magpiestar just a tad less than her brother, though due to the relationship between Magpiestar and Bearkit, Maplekit would gladly take Magpiestar's side.

Smallpaw-- as completely unhelpful as she would be in battle-- would be on Magpie's side.

Now, this is just a suggestion and only serves to make things messier, so you can say no, but if Pinestar is announcing this publicly before all this fighting happens within RC and with SkC... I can't quite imagine Rosestar sitting back and twiddling her non-existent thumbs while the clan ShC is allied with so strongly is in danger (plus she considers Mags a friend, not just an ally.) So if you're down ShC could attack SkC or the rebels-- she's always wanted to lead her clan using ShC's infamous Night Ambush tactic, but this makes things crazy complex and is beyond the scope of what you have planned so the rogues could be an excuse for her non-involvement.

nettleheart will be a supporter. while he wouldn't hesitate to say if magpie is making a bone-headed move, he will support his leader regardless, so long as it is in the best interest of riverclan. being he is a medicine cat, he could try and use this leverage to rally supporters in favour of their leader. so perhaps he could be a leader among the supporters - not so much because he is the leader type, but because he'd make his opinion known that the rebels are foolish to cast magpie aside.

EDIT. shanny's remark about shadowclan's involvement could be fun too. i would not be opposed.

Even though he's just a warrior, he's a damn good one and has an extremely black and white, clear cut view of right and wrong when it comes to a rebellion against the leader. He respects Mags and knows that he has done everything possible for the good of the clan, and will support him without question in this little coup. I feel with him being somewhat older, and I imagine him as pretty well respected within the clan due to his fighting and hunting prowess, he could maybe act as a leader of the loyalists with his blunt attitude. In his mind, there should be no questioning of Mag's leadership, and that's final *nod*

Also, a ShC rally would be pretty neat! cx

A huge thank you to everyone who has signed up so far! I'm really glad to see that Magpie has so many supporters. But we need rebels too! Remember, the rebels don't wanna hurt Magpie, they just want him to retire. And only the leaders will face any serious consequences, so you don't have to worry about being exiled if your character supported the rebellion but wasn't an active leader!

Also, we can have more than two loyalist leaders - so feel free to put your babies forward! Glad to see the apprentices are pulling for Mags. Also, tikker ♪ ♫ - this is a moment that I really wish someone had adopted Troutfoot. Imagine if Troutfoot was, at least to a little extent, on the side of the rebellion and encouraging his father to retire, then his son Egret was on Magpie's side. Draaaammmmaaaaaa.

Finally - shanny , I had considered this! And I love the idea of Shadow coming and really acting on their alliance with RC. I'll have to talk to skyy and her socks and see what her full opinions are, since I don't wanna do anything against her wishes. I could almost see maybe Rosestar having extra patrols along the RC border after the Gathering where Pinestar is all accusatory? And maybe when the battle begins, they catch wind of it and arrive with reinforcements? idk, but I'm sure we can figure something out!

I know Otterfoot is rather young but can he perhaps be a loyalist? Otterfoot would have a great deal of respect for Magpiestar and would definitely not agree to this rebellion thing. He can be a prankster but he knows clearly from right from wrong and would seriously believe the rebel Clanmates doing the wrong thing. Though he's young he's very clever and a strategist.

I don't know if there's more support positions- but Spiderbite is definitely a loyalist. While he might question his leader, there's no way he could go against them. However he wouldn't be so quick to dismiss the rebellion either since they are RiverClan. He would probably trust Nettleheart's judgment because he believes StarClan would lead them.

AND if ShC is involved- Sparrowpelt can help Nettleheart heal any wounded if need be. Maybe a prophecy before hand or some kind of guidance from StarClan (Since we really haven't used too much of this yet).

if we are in need of rebels, i can make a character or two to help fill those positions. however i'd probably kill them off in the battle, or have them go npc after the fact. they most likely wouldn't be characters i'd intend to keep or maintain, mostly because i have a number of characters already. but for the purpose of the plot, i'd be willing to offer up a few bodies if needed.
