It wasn’t all that often that she really got to go on patrols these days, and that alone had a little bit more of a bound to the she-cat’s movements as the strode forward, confident air never wavering. Yet, despite her urge to move briskly, each step was taken in time with Alligatoreye’s, her wanted speed slowed ever so slightly but her brother’s slower pace. Not that she was going to complain about that, she could guess why they were flying ahead. That something had to two with Speckledwing and Egretpaw tagging right behind as well. The apprentice at least might not be able to keep up with them. At the thought, she sent a glance toward the apprentice, amber eyes curious, yet slightly amused by the way the small cat moved forward, seemingly caught in his own world. What did appreciates even think about these days? Who knew.

A bump to her side has Honeyrose’s head turning back toward Alligatoreye, raises a brow and giving him a questioning look, despite the small smirk that settled on her face. What? Revealing in my company or something? She took a step to the side in order to bump the tabby tom back, slightly harder than what he’d done to her, smirk growing. Then he was ahead, not far but just, bounding around like a kitten out of the nursery for the first time. “We have arrived!” Flicking both ears forward twice, and giving a flick of her tail, she rolled her eyes. You act like we were going somewhere special, mousebrain. “Just saying, if anyone wants to do some hunting after we check for the two-legs who're always coming around this season, that's fine. I bet Magpiestar's shown you some sweet moves, huh, Egretpaw?”

The she-cat glanced toward Egretpaw, bright amber gaze glinting with amusement. It was one of two ways, either he had, or the apprentice was going to make a comment about not knowing things. "Maybe our senior-est friend Speckledwing here can pass on some clan secrets, if you haven't gotten to hunting mice yet." Honeyrose snorted, shaking her head, looking to Alligatoreye and wriggling her tail in the air, before lashing it suddenly. Please, since when has mouse hunting been a ‘clan secret’? She waved her tail toward the river. Behind her, she could hear Egretpaw latching onto Speckledwing. "Would you speckledwing? Would you, would you, would you?" Honeyrose moved back to Alligatoreye’s side fully, just long enough to give him another shove, before circling back and moving to Egretpaw, tapping his head twice with her tail. Relax, kit, give Speckledwing some space. She gestured back with her tail, before looking to the other warriors, and gesturing her head forward. We have a job to do. Turning back around, she moved forward around Alligatoreye, but keeping his presence in close mind, even as she scanned the fields around them, especially the grazing sheep up ahead. Thumping her tail against the ground a few times to get her brothers attention, she looked back, before gesturing to the creatures with her head, and pointing her tail toward Egretpaw. Warn him not to get close to those.

I can do anything, anything, anything

[attr="class","itdscroll"]Egretpaw pinned his ears to his skull at the mention of his mentor, which reminded Alligatoreye perhaps somewhat belatedly that constantly having his position as apprentice to the mighty Magpiestar rubbed in his face might not be what Egretpaw preferred, but luckily Alligatoreye's aside to Speckledwing earned him an escape from the apprentice's ire. Egretpaw went bounding up to the other warrior and Alligatoreye pulled a face at Honeyrose, relieved to have gotten out of that situation without an outburst from their youngest member. Of course, Honeyrose was busy making faces right back. "Don't be so cynical, Honeyrose, the Fields are very special!" he said with a smirk, though his sister promptly ruined it with more of her own sarcasm. He shoved back at her, grumbling under his breath, because it really wasn't fair that she could get away with wordless comebacks, retorting, "Maybe it's a clan secret you didn't know you knew about, how's that?" Alligatoreye wrinkled his nose as soon as the sentence left his mouth. Maybe not my best work. He decided to move on from that awkward moment, just like she was doing, heading to reprimand Egretpaw for his lively bothering of Speckledwing. Alligatoreye was just relieved everyone had decided to bother someone else for a change. Luckily the she-cat in question could speak for herself.

Said relief ended quickly when Speckledwing headed his way. Her words on hunting mice as Riverclan's secret had him puffing up, opening his mouth instantly to rub that in Honeyrose's face, only for him to subside like a popped balloon when she winked at Honeyrose and ruined the moment. “Just let us know how you’d like us to proceed, oh great one.” But then she spoke again, this time to him instead of his sister and the young'un, circling him with the subtlest of brushes against his fur. Alligatoreye manfully swallowed a purr, gaze warming. "Great one? I appreciate that, Speckledwing, your sincerity is welcome in the face of these lesser clan mates," he meowed, turning to Egretpaw and Honeyrose with a mischievous twinkle in his eye, only to realize Honeyrose was thumping her tail to get his attention. He cleared his throat awkwardly and followed through, meowing directly to Egretpaw, "Okay, now, the sheep may look like fluffy clouds with heads out of nowhere, but their feet are pretty nasty and they'll trample a cat if they stampede, so it's best to tread lightly around them. For now, we'll follow the fence line to the two-legs camp, so we can check and see if there are any there and report that back to Magpiestar. Follow me!" Alligatoreye spun on his paws and trotted for the fence, tail waving in the air, but not before he brushed Speckledwing's shoulder, throwing a wink of his own over his shoulder. There, he could multitask! Right?
