Featherstone found herself awakened at dawn by the cats waking for dawn patrol. This did not bother her any, she had always been an early riser.Batting open her eyes she yawned and gave a good long stretch. The thoughts of what she had to do for the day suddenly hit her like an angry badger. Leaping to her feet in excitement she almost landed on one of her sleeping clanmates. She decided it would be best to quickly leave the den before she had the wrath of senior warriors coming down on her. Bounding excitedly over to the freshkill pile, which was almost gone, she plucked a mouse and sat right outside the apprentice den to eat in hurried gulps. Today was going to be an exciting day, she could feet it! She had planned to take Pearpaw around the whole territory, something they had not had a chance to do yet. It was likely to take the pair all day, especially since Featherstone tended to get distracted and go off on a tangent about different things.
Sticking her head into the apprentice den, she let her eyes adjust to the sleeping forms and, as quietly as she could, padded over to her apprentice. Sticking her fluffy tail in his mouth to keep him from shouting and waking the others. With a prodding paw into his stomach, she woke him and signaled to meet him outside. As she padded back across the den toward the entrance, she tried not to trod oh ant tails. Only somewhat sure she succeeded, she sat and waited for Pearpaw to join her.
"Eat quickly, something small, we have a big day ahead of us!" She meowed, sounding like an overexcited apprentice herself. "Don't worry, we can catch more along the way!"
